For many years, Cruise has been one of the most well-known movie actors worldwide. More than anything else, his career has been shaped in recent years by the follow-ups to some of his most famous films. Mission: Impossible 8 is scheduled to be released in theaters in 2025, a third Top Gun film is in development, and there are rumors that a sequel to Edge of Tomorrow may be approved.
In addition to the aforementioned movies, a sequel to Cruise's 1990 movie Days of Thunder is being made. Days of Thunder follows the rivalry-turned-friendship between NASCAR drivers Cole Trickle and Rowdy Burns.
