Privacy Project Radio

Privacy Project Radio In 1991 public radio aired a groundbreaking 13 part radio series titled "The Privacy Project." Back then, few people cared about electronic privacy.

This was before the Internet when CallerID, cellphones and email were just arriving. Today everything is different; we're surrounded by smartphones, surveillance cams, security profiling, and ubiquitous Internet services that remember and analyze our movements, our purchases and even our relationships. For the past twenty years friends and colleagues have asked us, "when will you produce another P

rivacy Project?" The answer was always "not yet..." But now we're ready. Now the issues have become so interesting again that we can't resist the challenge of picking-up the privacy story where we left it off, 20 years ago. We won't just be cataloging new privacy invasions, we'll endeavor (as we did before) to find out what it all means, for all of us as members of a complex society and as individuals with precious constitutional rights protect. We invite you to join us in a wide-ranging conversation here on Facebook. As the project grows, we'll add podcasts and full-blown documentary productions for Public Radio.
