Pray for Shaylynn Boyd

July 6,2023 was the date that changed my families world. This date means so much to us as we have had incredible growth as a family between Josh, myself, Skyler and Shaylynn. He have become more positive and tried to surround ourself with positivity. We are more faithful people and believe God has given our Shaylynn the strength to fight cancer. The communication between us all is stronger as we have continued to talk daily about any struggle or blessings we endured. We have realized the power of prayer that our family has received and how without all of you (family and friends) nothing is possible. We are thankful for each and every prayer received! Hard the believe two years ago Josh and I felt we couldn’t breathe after just one phone call as we watched our daughter sleep with tears streaming from our eyes. We decided from day 1 we will tackle cancer head on and fight for our baby! Shaylynn has been a warrior through this all. If you talk to her she tells you she always knew she would beat cancer and we are getting closer and closer to January. I know over the last two years Josh and I haven’t really gone out with people and shoot we have only had minimal date nights but we wouldn’t change anything of how we choose to put our family first.

Thank you still for helping us pray for our Shaylynn. It been a rough two years but I think you could all agree she still has a beautiful smile and fighting spirit.

06/30/2025

Been a long day but another month done. Shaylynn received vincristine, prentamaine, and intrathecal methotrexate. Two NP’s tried to obtain her LP and were unsuccessful so Dr Max came in and got it done. 5 attempts on LP so we will be headed home to relax and keep calm environment. Please pray for no spinal headache and we have discussed future plans for LP to be done in IR if possible. Hgb was 13.1, platelets 300 and AnC was down to 980. No change in medications.

Please pray for peace for Shaylynn. You can see if first picture her hair has come in nicely and thick as can be. Starting last Thursday/Friday she has been losing her hair in handfuls. We have no answers as to why this is happening but will be seeing her oncologist on the 30th. She was really loving her new hair so she is very upset with this change and since there are no answers as to why this is happening we are unsure if it will come back. She is a stronger fighter for sure.

We are another month down. Shay’s AnC was 2190, Hgb 12.1 and platelets 290. Increasing doses of her oral chemotherapy. Shay has been feeling great and ready to enjoy the summer. Thank you everyone for continued prayers for our sweet girl.

Headed home from Kansas City. Shaylynn’s Hgb 13.3, platelets 250, and AnC was 1920. All number look great. They have increased one of her oral chemotherapy doses. This girl is fighting hard and kicking butt! Thank you all for continued prayers.

If you don’t know Shay.. you need to know that she is a warrior and continues to let her beautiful smile shine through as she faces each battle! April is her mama and she is an amazing woman of strength.

Great appointment today. Hgb is 13.4, WBC 3.67, platelets 304, and AnC 1740. Shay received pentamidine IV today but didn’t get chemotherapy. We will increase her oral chemotherapy doses. So glad to have another month down.

Shaylynn will have surgery Friday to have tubes placed in both ears. Prayers this surgery goes well and she recovers quickly. Thank you all for continued prayers!

We in fact home today. Spinal headache for Ms Shay. Lots of love, quiet, dark, caffeine and pain medication to try to help. Please say a little prayer this doesn’t last long.

03/10/2025

Another month down. 9 more to go. WBC was 4.5, Hgb was 11.3, platelets 239, and AnC was 2,060. All numbers looking great so they increased her oral chemos slightly. We had difficulty with the LP and they had to poke her twice. She has been having spinal headaches with each LP over last 6 months as there is scar tissue to navigate around. Prayers she does well and no headache. She did receive methotrexate with her LP, vincristine IV, DDAVP IV, and protamantine IV. Now home to rest.

Another month down…..Shaylynn’s AnC was 1700, cbc 3.0 and Hgb 12.5. All labs great and she is feeling good. We will have consult with ENT for ear tube for left ear coming up. Now to enjoy a great lunch at Shaylynn’s request.

01/13/2025

Another month down and 12 more to go. Shaylynn had LP with intrathecal methotrexate and protamamine done today. Increased dose on one of Shaylynn’s oral chemotherapy. Proud parent moment as she sang Joe Diffe “John Deere green” out loud to Dr Gamis during her LP. She couldn’t believe he didn’t know this song (city boy). 😂 thank you everyone for continued prayers.
