Check out this fossil dig and hike coming up at Fossil Rim next month. Sounds like fun!

Join us for the Fossil Dig and Hike on Saturday, April 4 from 9am-12:30pm. We’ll load into one of our tour vehicles and drive to one of our fossil pits and dig in! You’ll be able to keep at least a couple of the fossils you find. Includes a full, 2 hour guided tour of the park. All ages welcome.

As the "American Sniper" film racks in half a billion dollars, Erath County had to tap into its reserves to cover $900K to $1 million for the capital murder trial of the killer of real life "American Sniper" Chris Kyle and Chad Littlefield...partly because the film generated so much pre-trial publicity that extra security was needed. Doesn't seem fair, does it?

Erath County commissioners met Monday to discuss several agenda items, including the costs associated with the capital murder trial of Eddie Routh.
