This is going to be an epic show! I'll be hosting the 11th Annual In Concert for Cancer Benefit Show November 7th at one of my favorite places on the planet Dimitriou's Jazz Alley in Seattle. And it's a crazy lineup of friends.... Jim Peterik and The Ides Of March, Official: Ray Parker Jr. and Mark Farner of the original Grand Funk Railroad. The show will be stellar, and all proceeds go to fighting cancer. I know we can all get behind that. I'll even be hosting a wine 🍷 and music 🎶 tasting the night before the show featuring our wineandjazz.com wines for our VIPs. For tickets: www.jazzalley.com

See you there!

Honk for Jesus. Save Your Soul. is a satirical comedy starring Regina Hall as Trinitie Childs – the proud first lady of a Southern Baptist megachurch, who together with her husband Pastor Lee-Curtis Childs (Sterling K. Brown), once served a congregation in the tens of thousands. But after a scandal forces their church to temporarily close, Trinitie and Lee-Curtis must reopen their church and rebuild their congregation to make the biggest comeback that commodified religion has ever seen.

Jennifer Lopez and Ben Affleck celebrated their marriage on Saturday, August 20, in front of family and friends at their home in Riceboro, Georgia, on the Hampton Island preserve outside of Savannah. Jennifer had a very specific vision for all of the events throughout the course of their wedding weekend, and to help bring it to life, the two enlisted Colin Cowie of Colin Cowie Lifestyle to oversee all the details. The weekend kicked off with a rehearsal dinner on Friday night.

The bride wore custom Ralph Lauren Collection to walk down the aisle. Ralph Lauren has always been a go-to designer for the Marry Me actor. The wedding gown she wore during the ceremony was the first of three Ralph Lauren dresses that comprised her lineup of looks for the evening.

The 20th annual Martha’s Vineyard African American Film Festival (MVAAFF), founded by Stephanie and Floyd Rance, opened Friday evening with a robust crowd at a screening of Descendant, a searing documentary helmed by filmmaker Margaret Brown. The film follows the residents of Africatown, Alabama, the descendants of the Clotilda, the last known slave ship to hit American shores long after the transatlantic slave trade had been outlawed. The Netflix film is produced by Barack and Michelle Obama’s Higher Ground Productions, and the former POTUS and First Lady surprised the crowd when they stepped out to introduce the film.

This is what a Star Wars-less Christmas weekend at the box office looks like. Industry estimates show Warner Bros.’ Aquaman, after a $27.8M Friday, heading toward a $70M opening. Friday’s figure includes Thursday’s $9M, and the overall cume by Sunday of $74.7M will include the Wednesday and Amazon previews. Pic is still within the tracking range we spotted earlier this week ($65M-$70M) and the question remains how much will Christmas spike the pic. Many were predicting a $120M 5-day, and now it could be lower, though some still see $100M+.
Leading U.S. and international film companies have been largely quiet so far on the disappearance of Saudi dissident Jamal Khashoggi. Behind the scenes, however, they are reevaluating their investments in and from the country.
