Sometimes the dance floor tells you exactly where it wants to go next.

We had the energy with Bad Bunny’s “NUEVAYoL,” but this felt like the perfect time to switch things up and take the crowd into hip-hop. The second “Grove St. Party” dropped, they were all over it.

Huge shoutout to Mark Cutz for making this insane transition edit! Djs, if you are not using his stuff you are missing out.

Having great edits like this in the toolbox is huge, but knowing when to reach for them is just as important. Reading the crowd, timing when to drop them and taking the dance floor where it wants to go next is what makes it that much more impactful.

A wedding DJ’s day starts long before the first song plays.

Gym, last-minute music prep, loading the car, Chick-fil-A on the road, and finally pulling up to the venue.

I Love It -> FE!N 👀

A few guests at this wedding at Barn on the Pemi requested FE!N and instead of just dropping it, I tried this transition on the fly.

It end up sounding better than I expected. I’m excited to clean this up and see where else I can incorporate it again into my sets! I think the potential in this idea is def there!

Are you giving a speech or toast at a wedding? Start here.

One of the biggest pieces of advice I can give: skip the line, “For those of you who don’t know me...”

It is used at almost every wedding, every weekend, in atleast one of the speeches or toasts.

The truth is, it’s usually unnecessary.
Your DJ, band, or emcee has already introduced you, and the guests already know why you’re standing there.
