Some people just prefer paper to a screen. We have a wonderful volunteer who puts all of our stories into a PDF document every week so you can print it out at home. We also drop off copies at the Waltham Public Library, City Hall and the Senior Center. Visit weekly printable editions to download the issues you want!

Join us for our first Meet Your Neighbors canvass event! This will be the start of our summer-long campaign to learn more about our neighbors' interests, expand our subscriber, donor, and volunteer engagement, and build an informed community.

We will meet at a canvass organizer's house in the Cedarwood neighborhood. We will begin with a brief 10-15 minute, on-site orientation at the start of each shift and then pair off to meet our neighbors by walking around door-to-door.

The event is scheduled for this Wednesday, June 3, from 4:30-7:30 pm in 2 shifts starting at 4:30 and 6:00. You may join for one or both shifts. Hope you'll join us! Sign up here:

The Charles River is on the move this spring, and not just on the surface. Beneath the rippling water, thousands of herring are making their annual journey upstream — a fleeting but vital migration that draws sharp-eyed birds as well as people along the banks. Volunteers have returned to the river’s edge to count each passing fish, helping scientists track the health of a fragile ecosystem that connects Waltham to a much larger environmental story.
