Once, when she was in college, my wife sat bolt upright in bed—still completely asleep—and shouted, “I love The Great Gatsby!” All these years later, that feeling is still very much shared and alive in our household. We own as many copies, adaptations, and variations of GATSBY as we do of DRACULA.

I also love horror, haunted houses, and Gwendolyn Kiste, so it should come as no surprise that IN THESE GILDED, GHOSTLY HEARTS is easily my favorite read of the year so far (after DBS8, of course).

The novella follows Daisy Buchanan’s daughter, Mel, as she races to uncover the truth behind her mother’s death and unravel the secrets of her past—all while trying to free Daisy from the ghostly grip of the Gatsby mansion itself. Many of your favorite characters and elements from the original novel make appearances, and Gwendolyn’s writing has never been sharper.

I highly recommend picking this one up when it hits shelves in September.
