It is with a heavy heart that we share with you the Bill Boys, the radio voice of Highway 96, died unexpectedly Wednesday night of a heart attack. He was 64 years old.
When I shared with Bill that I wanted to create a Classic Rock radio station for Houston County and surrounding counties, he embraced the idea and ran with it. He made it his project, and he was dedicated to making it a great radio station until the day he died. It's hard to explain how proud he was of this station. He loved this radio station, loved what he did, and loved talking with so many of the listeners of Highway 96.
Bill was a great radio man, with an outstanding, booming voice. We all knew everything with Highway 96 was in great hands, and we never had to worry about anything with Bill in charge. I am so proud of Highway 96, and it's all due to Bill Boys.
God Bless his daughter Becca, and his two grandchildren, who he loved very, very much.
