Sorry I've been missing lately. I went in the hospital for one thing and came out with about 5 other things that are wrong with me. Now my Calander if full of doctors appointments. I will hopefully

I'm not sure about this one! I messed around on for 3 days. The first day the power went out for 15 hours!!! So I had to quit. The second day it just wasn't flowing, and the third day I decided this is as good as it's going to get.. I hate when my painting flow is interrupted! I lose my mojo!

Sorry I haven't been around much, between Dr appointments, and just feeling down I have been hiding and trying to figure out what I am supposed to be doing. I have been in a lot of pain and that isn't helping matters. I am going for an epidural on the 13th so I'm hoping that will help.me get out of this funk. I have finally pick up my paint brushes, and managed to paint two new pieces. I hope you like them.

I know I've been awol for awhile. Just keeping up with all Bill's appointments these past few months has kept me.busy. l have managed to get some veggies planted and have started my fairy garden. I still want to redo my craft room, but that is going to have to wait until I have some help.

These past few months have been crazy! Bill has been in and out of the hospital several times, the last one e being especially scary! They said if I hadn't gotten him to the hospital when I did he wouldn't have made.it. I had my second knee replacement and was recovering with one of those hospital stays, so my daughter was the one doing all the running for us. Thank God for Lisa who took very good care of me! She made sure I was comfortable and well fed lol. Not to mention she got me the most awesome recliner, with heat and massage as well as it being a lift so I could get up with no problem. Bill is home once again, this time with O2 and a bipap to remove the C02 out of his lungs. Between, scheduling appointments and having PT, a visiting nurse and running Mikey back and forth to school I haven't had much time to craft let alone get online. Don't give up on me yet I'm hoping that Bill will get stronger and things will ease up some soon. Mikey only has a month left of school, so that will free up a bit of time too. I miss you all!!

This time surgery was a bit rougher. My BP kept bottoming out it was 60/40 then dropped even further down to 58/39. I'm thankful they caught it when they did or I could have stroked out or even worse. I am totally worn out. I think I could sleep.for a week.

Our Story

Hello! Thanks for taking the time to view my story. My name is Karen and I am a wife and mother as well as a folk artist. I grew up in Buffalo NY, and now live in Ohio with my husband and my youngest son. As a child loved to make pot holders, paint molds, and I tried my hand at knitting and crocheting. Both my parents were very creative. My mother sewed most of our clothes when we were little, and my father could draw and paint. My sister and I would make pot holders and sell them in the neighborhood. I hadn’t done anything creative for quite sometime when my husband noticed that I was drawing on the backs of my children’s school papers. Then one day my husband came home with paints and canvas and told me to paint. In doing that he created a monster, because once I tapped into my creative side, paint wasn’t the only medium that I wanted to use. From painting on canvas, I moved onto painting on wood. Which made me want a saw so I could cut my own shapes. Then of course I was bitten by the fabric doll bug, so I taught myself to sew, and eventually started making my own patterns. From there I moved onto working with paper clay and learning how to make armatures to create art dolls. I enjoy working with several mediums and growing my skill set. I was very excited when the community college in North Carolina contacted me to do a Christmas craft class. I enjoy teaching and have added virtual classes and wood kits to my website, as well as finished pieces. Anyone can learn to paint! My thoughts are if you can color then I can teach you to paint! I would love to see you at my live tutorials on Wednesdays, at 12:30 EST !
