Bubba’s is a local, family-owned restaurant chain known for its Polish foods, deep-dish pizzas, and sandwiches. We visited the Greensburg Bubba’s Greensburg and Irwin Bubba’s locations, and they’re also in Latrobe.

Here’s what we ordered:
🥟 Polish Platter (my favorites were the potato-cheese pierogies and stuffed cabbage; also haluski)
🍕 Chicken Parmesan Pizza
🍗 Chicken Lips (lightly breaded and fried chicken chunks)
🥪 Kielbasa Sandwich with Potato Salad
🥟 Lekvar Pierogies (I liked the prune filling but prefer less dough; not shown)

⭐ The three Bubba’s restaurants have average ratings of 3.9–4.5 stars on Yelp and 4.6–4.9 stars on Google. My rating is 4 stars.

🎉 Grand reopening! Bud’s Smokehouse BBQ Bud is now open in Trafford, bringing back their slow-smoked meats, sides, stacked-high sandwiches, and scratch-made sauces for dining in, takeout, and catering.

I bought a couple of their combos plus a half rack of ribs:
🍖 Meats: Brisket, pulled pork, pulled chicken, jalapeno-cheddar sausage, chicken wings, and ribs
🧀 Sides: Macaroni and cheese, spicy collard greens, and moist cornbread

⭐️ Their previous location in Irwin had average ratings of 5.0 stars on Yelp and 4.8 stars on Google. I liked all of the foods that I tried, so I think that Bud’s is worth checking out. What foods will you order? 💬

[This festival has ended. See you next year!] This weekend, Pittsburgh’s Soul Food Festival A Soulful Taste of the Burgh is back downtown, bringing together a great group of African American food trucks, artisans, and music.

I stopped by on Friday, and here’s what I bought:

[This festival has ended. See you there next year!] 🇬🇷 The ultimate Greek feast has arrived! “Taste of Greece” Holy Trinity Greek Food Festival is running from September 3-6 (Thursday-Sunday) from 11 AM - 9 PM.

They’re serving a few dozen authentic Greek foods. Here’s everything that I ordered so far:
🌯 Mains: gyro, pork souvlaki, rice pilaf, green beans yiahni, and pastitsio
🍰 Desserts: baklava, chocolate baklava, galaktoboureko, kourambiethes, finikia, diples, kataifi, karithopita, apricot roll, and portokalopita

Don’t miss:
💥 Watching them make the flambéed saganaki and fried loukoumathes
♫ Live bands, traditional dancing, and local shops

Huzzah! ⚔️ The Pittsburgh Renaissance Festival is back! King Henry is opening the gates of Morelandshire every weekend plus Labor Day through October 4th for 16th-century feasting, entertainment, and shopping.

Food and drink vendors are cash-only. Here’s what I devoured:
🍗 Giant Turkey Drumstick
🥚 Scotch Eggs
🍲 Broccoli-Cheddar Soup in Bread Bowl
🍨 Apple Cobbler à la Mode
🍺 Root Beer

Make sure to watch the jousting knights, dragon fire, washing-well wenches, musicians, and other performers and to shop from the many artisans scattered throughout the village.

🥓 Bacon lovers, assemble! Pittsburgh’s 2nd annual BaconBurgh was held on August 30. It was an absolute hit, from the food trucks serving bacon-loaded foods to the live bands, market vendors, mechanical hog ride, and Oscar Mayer Wienermobile.

Here’s what I enjoyed:

🥪 Turkey BLT Club sandwich from Notorious BLT
🥓 Bacon on a Stick from Pittsburgh Smokehouse

☕️ 🌿 For a peaceful lunch surrounded by nature, go to Canopy Cafe at the Pittsburgh Botanic Garden. You can dine either outside or inside with beautiful tree-lined views.

Here’s everything that we enjoyed:
🥣 Red Pepper Soup & Tomato Bisque
🥗 Rainbow Garden Salad (organic veggies, quinoa, feta, and vinaigrette)
🥐 Chicken Salad Sandwich (Mediterra croissant with almonds, cranberries, and greens)
🍵 Dark Chocolate Mint Tea (Cherry Valley Organics)

🌸 After lunch, we took a 1-hour stroll through the native gardens and woodlands.
🦖 Don’t miss the Scraposaurs exhibit through October 31st. Artist Dale Lewis created incredible prehistoric sculptures out of repurposed metal!

⭐️ Canopy Cafe has average ratings of 5.0 stars on Yelp and Google, and my rating is 4.5 stars.

🥳 GRAND OPENING! Valley Kitchen Wexford just opened their doors, and they’re serving the ultimate breakfast and lunch menu—from sweet waffles to savory Benedicts and bowls to handcrafted lattes.

My husband and I felt very impressed with our meal:
