Something new is coming to help families connect! 💙

On October 30, we’re launching Connect2Care, a new Facebook group designed to connect families who are looking for support with people in our community interested in providing it.

Families will be able to use Connect2Care to look for respite care providers or individuals interested in working as staff through self-directed services. We know finding the right person to provide support can be challenging. Our hope is that Connect2Care gives families and potential providers a place to find one another and make those connections a little easier.

Last week, some of our team attended the annual Missouri Association of County Developmental Disabilities Services conference. This year's special guest was Zach Anner, a comedian, writer, actor, and disability advocate! We learned a lot, connected with our fellow SB 40 Boards, and enjoyed some time out of the office.

Registration is OPEN for UCM Special Olympics Bowling! 🎳

This is a 5-week, non-competitive bowling program hosted by UCM and open to Special Olympics athletes.

Bowling will take place every Sunday from October 18 through November 15. There is a one-time $5 fee, payable in cash on the first day you attend. Please note: There will be one time change during October.

It’s Case Management Appreciation Week, and we couldn’t let it pass without celebrating our incredible team!

Our case managers do so much every day. They answer questions, solve problems, navigate complicated systems, advocate, connect people to resources, celebrate the wins, work through the hard days, and show up again and again for the individuals and families they support. So much of what they do happens behind the scenes, but the impact of their work can be seen throughout our community.

This week, we’re celebrating the people who make it happen. Thank you to our JCBS case managers for the time, heart, patience, and dedication you bring to your work every single day.

We are so lucky to have this team! 💙
