When I first came up with a structure that worked for me, I just kept a key diagram handy until I got used to it. I wish I had found something like this earlier on/as a newer grad because it has saved me so much time and made me feel so much more organized for later on those crazy busy days!

I won’t be mad but I’ll be disappointed, which is worse 👀

Dogs and cats CAN’T SWEAT and struggle to regulate their body temp in extreme conditions. Even 15 mins is enough to be dangerous when it’s hot enough! Nevermind if they start playing or running in that heat…

Smoosh-faced, very young, and elderly pets are even more vulnerable - just keep their little b***y butts inside as much as possible on these days.

If you notice concerning signs of overheating, place your pet in front of fans or AC (like in the car on the way) and get them evaluated by a vet ASAP

- Heavy panting and distress
- Excessive drooling or thick, sticky saliva
- Bright red or purpley gums
- Disorientation, staggering, collapse, or seizures
- Vomiting or diarrhea

Also obviously outside for short periods ex: to go like from car to house to car to building etc, etc is fineee, there’s just no space for nuance in a reel

February Dump: short month, many wounds

1) one of sweetest angel boys in the whole world after a splint change
2) the most mobile feline 104 I’ve ever had the pleasure of meeting
3) post-eviction of that abscessed 104
4) suspected chemical burns on the tongue 😭
5) tie-over bandage success
6) literally my first penrose drain placement because I will fight against placing those bacteria ladders as hard as I can…couldn’t reasonably skip it here
7) sedated airway exam with a surprise friend! (tonsillar polyp/mass)

FYI it’s March now in case you forgot your dog’s monthly HWP/FTP dose
