Effective until 9:00pm tonight

Take this seriously and monitor future warnings. Over 100 tornado warnings have occurred from North Carolina all the way up in VT and western NH since last night when the storm made landfall. Besides the watch winds will gust between 45 to 60 as bands come across later this afternoon/evening. Stay safe everyone. I will provide updates as conditions warrant.

As I mentioned yesterday the s is a very disorganized storm. It has been downgraded to a Tropical Storm. I need to see what it does over the Gulf Stream today and how it interacts with land before another update. For now though less impacts will be seen for RI and Eastern Massachusetts. Looks to be just a rain maker for us. Again follow future official forecasts as these things can change quickly. Have a great Sunday everyone. Watch for storms today not associated with the Tropics.

Good morning

Well it looks like we will have strong to significant impacts from now Hurricane Isaias. Max sustained winds are currently at 80mph. As it approaches the Florida coast it is expected to turn to the North and then head Northeast towards Southern New England. This is a very disorganized Hurricane due to severe wind shear. As it moves North it will weaken some and should only be a Strong Tropical Storm as it approaches. Now with that said it could still strengthen but the odds are not in its favor. The track takes it right now to make landfall in North Carolina’s outer banks and then making a second landfall over the tip of Long Island and come onshore somewhere between Westerly and Fall River, MA as a strong tropical storm with heavy rain and winds around 50-60 mph with higher gusts. That can still cause damage and numerous power outages. Remember Irene which was not even close and that caused damage and power outages. Continue to monitor official forecasts as this is an evolving situation and the time to prepare would be this weekend for any impacts. Timeframe looks to be Tuesday night for the highest impacts. Another update will be made tomorrow. Thank you
