Damien Gabriel Torres, age 23, of Wasco, was arrested in the 2500 block of Yellowstone Court for felony prohibited person in possession of ammunition, felony possession of a firearm, possession of controlled substance while armed, possession of a large capacity magazine, threaten with intent to terrorize, prevent/dissuade victim, misdemeanor possession of controlled substance, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. He was booked into the Kern County Jail.

Melody Horton, age 47, of Wasco, was arrested in the 1500 bock of Palm Avenue for misdemeanor tampering of utilities, trespassing, vandalism, and possession of controlled substance paraphernalia. She was booked into the Kern County Jail.

Jose Naranjo - Soto, age 40, of Wasco, was arrested near the intersection of J Street and Highway 46 for misdemeanor exhibition of a deadly weapon: not a firearm. He was booked into the Kern County Jail.

Arturo Barbosa, age 42, of Wasco, was arrested in the 2200 block of Buena Ventura Steet for his felony bench warrant and misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance. He was booked into the Kern County Jail.

Edward Bustillos, age 64, of Wasco, was arrested near the intersection of Griffith Avenue and 5th Street for misdemeanor possession of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance paraphernalia, possession of a dirk or dagger, and his misdemeanor bench warrant. He was cited and released at the scene.

Shafter Police Department 2022 Arrest Log May 2 – May 8

1. Dispatched Arrest May 2nd: Pedro Garza came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for his arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of two active misdemeanor warrants. Garza was arrested and released after signing a citation.

2. Officer Initiated Arrest May 2nd: An SPD officer contacted Ricardo Ortega in the 200 block of Mannel Ave. A records check of Ortega confirmed he had six active misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Ortega was arrested and released after signing a citation.

3. Officer Initiated Arrest May 2nd: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Wendi Griffin in the area of Martha Ave. and Ryan Dr. A records check of Griffin confirmed she had an active misdemeanor warrant for her arrest and was driving with a suspended license. Griffin was found to be in possession of narcotics. Griffin was arrested and released after signing a citation.

6. Officer Initiated Arrest May 3rd: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Marlene Vargas in the 100 block of E. Orange Ave. A records check of Vargas confirmed she had two active felony warrants for her arrest. Vargas was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

14. Officer Initiated Arrest May 5th: SPD officers contacted Caleb Alcala in the 400 block of Loewen St. while investigating a report of reckless driving. A records check of Alcala confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Alcala was arrested and released after signing a citation.

15. Officer Initiated Arrest May 5th: An SPD officer contacted Sandra Castro in the 100 block of Olson Ave. A records check of Castro confirmed she had an active felony warrant for her arrest. Castro was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

16. Dispatched Arrest May 5th: Joseph Deltoro came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for his arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of an active misdemeanor warrant. Deltoro was arrested and released after signing a citation.

17. Dispatched Arrest May 5th: SPD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Curtis Ave. regarding a peace disturbance. Upon arrival officers contacted Ashley Roden, who was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia and a set of metal knuckles. Roden was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

18. Dispatched Arrest May 5th: SPD officers were dispatched to the 200 block of W. Tulare Ave. regarding a suspicious subject. Upon arrival officers located a subject, later identified as Manuel Aguilar, who fled from officers. Aguilar was apprehended a short time later. A records check of Aguilar confirmed he had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Aguilar was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

19. Dispatched Arrest May 6th: Irma Gomez came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for her arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of an active misdemeanor warrant. Gomez was arrested and released after signing a citation.

20. Dispatched Arrest May 6th: Pedro Valenzo came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for his arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of three active misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Valenzo was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

21. Dispatched Arrest May 6th: SPD officers were dispatched to the 6200 block of Zerker Rd. regarding a subject trespassing. Upon arrival, officers contacted David Smith, who was displaying symptoms of intoxication. While officers were contacting Smith he tried to pull away and run from officers. Smith was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

22. Dispatched Arrest May 7th: SPD officers were dispatched to the area of E. Lerdo Hwy. and James St. regarding a subject yelling at passing vehicles. Upon arrival, officers contacted Jose Soto. Soto was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Soto was arrested and released after signing a citation.

23. Dispatched Arrest May 7th: SPD officers were dispatched to the 3900 block of Santa Fe Wy. regarding a loud music complaint. Upon arrival officers contacted Joni Colima, who was determined to be responsible for the music. Colima was arrested for the municipal code violation and released after signing a citation.

24. Officer Initiated Arrest May 7th: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jose Felix in the 600 block of S. Central Valley Hwy. Felix was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Felix was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

25. Dispatched Arrest May 7th: SPD officers were dispatched to check the welfare of a subject slumped over the steering wheel of a vehicle in the area of N. Shafter Ave. and E. Tulare Ave. Upon arrival, officers contacted Zachary Hobbs still occupying the vehicle. Hobbs was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Hobbs was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

26. Officer Initiated Arrest May 8th: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Andrew Munoz in the area of James St. and E. Euclid Ave. A records check of Munoz found he was driving with a suspended license. Munoz was arrested and released after signing a citation.

27. While conducting the above investigation, officers contacted Gabriel Diaz Gomez, as a passenger in the vehicle. Gomez was found to be in possession of narcotics and drug paraphernalia. Gomez was arrested and released after signing a citation.

1. Officer Initiated Arrest April 25th: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Adrian Alanis in the area of E. Lerdo Hwy. and Cherry Ave. a records check of Alanis confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Alanis was arrested and released after signing a citation.

2. Officer Initiated Arrest April 25th: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Joseph Saenz in the area of W. Ash Ave. and S. Wall St. A records check of Saenz confirmed he had an active felony and three active misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Saenz was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. 17. Officer Initiated Arrest April 29th: An SPD officer attempted to conduct a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Jose Villalva Melendrez in the area of Hwy. 99 and Whisler Rd. The vehicle continued and failed to yield for the officer. The vehicle eventually yielded and the driver was contacted. Melendrez was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. A records check of Melendrez confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest and his license was suspended. Melendrez was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

Upon arrival, officers contacted Julianna Rangel, who was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. It was determined Rangel was too intoxicated to care for her own safety or the safety of others and she was arrested. Rangel was transported to the Kern County Jail.

24. Officer Initiated Arrest May 1st: SPD officers contacted Gabriel Diaz Gomez Jr. in the 21000 of Badger St. in Lost Hills. A records check of Gomez confirmed he had a felony and two misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Gomez was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

1. Officer Initiated Arrest April 18th: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Cristian Palacios in the area of Central Valley hwy. and E. Lerdo Hwy. A records check of Palacios found he was unlicensed. Palacios was arrested and released after signing a citation.

8. Officer Initiated Arrest April 19th: An SPD officer contacted Christian Olivo in the area of Central Valley Hwy. and N. Shafter Ave. A records check of Olivo confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Olivo was arrested and released after signing a citation.

9. Dispatched Arrest April 20th: Samantha Hoeland came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for her arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of an active misdemeanor warrant. Hoeland was arrested and released after signing a citation.

11. Officer Initiated Arrest April 20th: An SPD officer contacted Brittany Derington in the 300 block of W. Tulare Ave. A records check of Derington confirmed she had two active misdemeanor warrants for her arrest. Derington was arrested and released after signing a citation.

12. Officer Initiated Arrest April 20th: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Vicente Millan in the area of TV Little St. and W. Lerdo Hwy. A records check of Millan confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant and was driving with a suspended license. Millan was arrested and released after signing a citation.

13. Dispatched Arrest April 21st: SPD officers were dispatched to a check the welfare in the 400 block of W. Los Angeles Ave. Upon arrival, officers contacted Michelle Williams. A records check of Williams confirmed she had an active misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. Williams was arrested and released after signing a citation.

14. Officer Initiated Arrest April 21st: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Antonio Madrigal in the area of S. Shafter Ave. and Orange Ave. A records check of Madrigal confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest and his license was suspended. Madrigal was arrested and released after signing a citation.

15. Dispatched Arrest April 22nd: Henry Valle came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for his arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of an active misdemeanor warrant. Valle was arrested and released after signing a citation.

Officer Initiated Arrest April 22nd: An SPD officer contacted Alfredo Jimenez as a passenger in a vehicle during a traffic stop in the 100 block of Beth Eden Ave. A records check of Jimenez confirmed he had three active misdemeanor warrants for his arrest. Jimenez was arrested and released after signing a citation.

17. Officer Initiated Arrest April 22nd: An SPD officer contacted Chelsea Pena near E. Lerdo Hwy. and Central Valley Hwy. after seeing her illegally crossing the BNSF railroad tracks. Pena was found to be in possession of narcotics, drug paraphernalia, and identifying information belonging to multiple people. Pena was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

18. Officer Initiated Arrest April 22nd: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Martin Serna in the area of E. Lerdo Hwy. and the Calloway Canal. Serna was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. Serna was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

19. Officer Initiated Arrest April 22nd: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Elena Juarez in the area of Scaroni Ave. and San Diego St. A records check of Juarez confirmed she had an active misdemeanor warrant for her arrest. Juarez was arrested and released after signing a citation.

20. Officer Initiated Arrest April 22nd: A SPD officer contacted Guillermo Zamora in the 100 block of S. Shafter Ave. A records check of Zamora confirmed he had an active misdemeanor warrant for his arrest. Zamora was arrested and released after signing a citation.

21. Officer Initiated Arrest April 23rd: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Miguel Lopez Hernandez in the area of W. Lerdo Hwy. and TV Little St. A records check of Hernandez found he was unlicensed. Hernandez was arrested and released after signing a citation.

22. Officer Initiated Arrest April 23rd: An SPD officer conducted a traffic stop on a vehicle driven by Gabriel Gomez Jr. in the area of Fresno Ave. and N. Shafter Ave. A records check of Gomez found he was unlicensed. Gomez was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Gomez was arrested and released after signing a citation.

23. Dispatched Arrest April 23rd: SPD officers were dispatched to the 400 block of Grace Ct. regarding subjects fighting. Upon arrival, officers located a crowd dispersing. Dagoberto Rodriguez Jr. was contacted and was displaying symptoms of being under the influence of alcohol. It was determined Rodriguez was too intoxicated to care for his own safety or the safety of others and he was arrested. Rodriguez was transported to the Kern County Jail.

24. Dispatched Arrest April 24th: Juan Acosta came to the Shafter Police Department to inquire about a warrant for his arrest. An SPD officer arrived and confirmed the existence of an active misdemeanor warrant. Acosta was arrested and released after signing a citation.

25. Dispatched Arrest April 24th: SPD officers were dispatched to the 100 block of Golden West Ave. regarding a subject trespassing. Upon arrival, officers contacted Manuel Aguilar in the rear yard. Aguilar was displaying symptoms of being under the influence. Aguilar was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Aguilar was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

26. Officer Initiated Arrest April 24th: An SPD officer contacted Adan Barrios in the area of E. Lerdo Hwy. and Cherry Ave. A records check of Barrios confirmed he had an active felony warrant for his arrest. Barrios was found to be in possession of drug paraphernalia. Barrios was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

27. Officer Initiated Arrest April 24th: An SPD office contacted David Aguillon Saldivar in the 100 block of E. Lerdo Hwy. Saldivar was found to be in possession of a concealed dirk or dagger and narcotics. Saldivar was arrested and transported to the Kern County Jail.

28. Dispatched Arrest April 24th: SPD officers were dispatched to the 100 block of W. Orange Ave. regarding a noise complaint. Upon arrival, officers contacted Rosa Garcia who advised she was the person responsible for the residence the loud music was emitting from. Garcia was arrested and issued a citation for the municipal code violation.
