A NERF gun ended up being the reason for over an hour-long lockdown of the outer perimeter of Washington DC’s Superior courthouse in downtown DC…

This afternoon, DC Police investigated two suspicious packages/items, both near courthouses:

-Suspicious package near the United States District Courthouse for the District of Columbia, on the 300 block of Constitution Ave NW at 2:27pm. The item was cleared with no hazardous material found.

-Suspicious truck cab in front of the Superior Court of DC building, 500 block of Indiana Ave NW. The cab was discovered to be holding a NERF GUN inside of it and has been cleared by DC Police. (pictured)

Both incidents ended up being false alarms, and DC Police are clearing both scenes now…

Maryland State Police have announced the arrest of a Glenn Dale man for a 2024 road rage murder on I-495 at Landover Road in Prince George’s County, Maryland.

The victim, 20 year-old Nyah Hairston, (pictured) was discovered brutally shot and killed in a ditch off of the Beltway while still in the driver’s seat of her car last May.

Dominec Proctor, 28 of Glenn Dale is charged with first-degree murder and is currently held without bond in Virginia on unrelated charges.

The case of Nyah Hairston is the third road-rage murder being investigated by the Maryland State Police Homicide Unit alone since 2022. A $60,000 reward is being offered for other two suspects in the road rage killings of Charlie Marks in Pasadena, Maryland and Delonte Hicks on Route 50 at Veterans Parkway, also in PG County.

The pursuit of a carjacked Toyota Corolla came to end with a foot chase during the rush hour commute in the city of Hyattsville this evening. 🚔

A Hyattsville police officer spotted the carjacked sedan right after 5pm and gave chase. The suspect struck several cars during the pursuit, ending on 42nd Ave at Queensbury Road near the Hyattsville Middle School with a bailout.

After a foot chase and search, two out of two suspects were taken into custody. PGPD’s Guardian 🚁 assisted with the search from above. No serious injuries were reported during the incident.

HAPPENING NOW: Alexandria Police just served a criminal search warrant at the MK Salon & Spa on the 1400 block of King Street in Old Town.

Per a source, the search warrant was reportedly served for allegations of prostitution inside of the massage parlor…

No word on any seized evidence or arrests as of now…

A man walked away scot free after splitting a Toyota sedan in half off of I-270 at Montgomery Village Avenue just after 2am this morning in Gaithersburg, MD.

The driver refused any medical treatment after the blue Toyota Corolla he was driving crashed into the woods next to the northbound lanes of I-270.

After MCFRS crews searched with thermal imaging, no other occupants were found. One person was placed in handcuffs near the scene by Gaithersburg PD; unsure if it was the driver. Maryland State Police assisted.

Fairfax County Police’s EOD (Explosive Ordnance Disposal Unit) has cleared the scene of the 10700 block of Richmond Highway in Lorton, Virginia following a suspicious package investigation.

A US Customs and Border Protection facility sits just feet away from where FCPD’s Explosive Ordinance Disposal (EOD) Unit was requested. The roadway leading up to the facility was temporarily closed off as a result.

Here’s the statement we’ve received from Fairfax County Police:

“At approximately 1:09 p.m., officers responded to the 10700 block of Richmond Highway in the Lorton area for a report of a suspicious package.

Our EOD squad determined the scene to be safe, and the incident was resolved.”

We have reached out to federal authorities in hopes of gathering more information.

DC Police have announced the arrest of a 31 year-old man of Southeast DC, wanted for the killing of a 3 year-old girl last year in the Hill East neighborhood.

On May 8th, 2024, DC Police responded to the 1400 block of L Street SE for reports of an unconscious child. Upon arrival, MPD officers found 3 year-old Zy’Onne Forney not breathing. She was rushed to the hospital, but later pronounced deceased.

After an autopsy was conducted, the manner of death was ruled a Homicide. 

On Monday, November 3, 2025, members of the Capital Area Regional Fugitive Task Force (CARFTF), located and arrested 31-year-old James Crawley, of Southeast DC.

Crawley was transported to MPD’s Homicide Branch where he was charged with First Degree Murder – Felony Murder and Cruelty to Children pursuant to a DC Superior Court arrest warrant. The detectives’ investigation confirmed the offense was domestic in nature.

It does not appear that court documents have been released in online court records as of yet in the case of James Crawley. We will update once more info regarding the case is available.

MASS SHOOTING AT DC NIGHTCLUB: Power Nightclub, 2300 block of Bladensburg Road NE in Washington DC— five people have been shot; all transported by EMS to hospitals. Extent of the victims’ injuries are unknown at this time. Unknown if the shooting occurred inside or outside the club. 🚨

Police are searching for a suspect in a gold sedan. MPD investigating further… shooting occurred at 1:51am previous to the Daylight Savings time change. (12:51am now)

TAKOMA METRO ROBBERY: DC Police and Metro Transit Police are on scene of a confirmed robbery at the Takoma metro station on Cedar Street NW in Takoma DC.

The victim was beat up and robbed & had to be tended to by medics on scene. A teen is in handcuffs after a group started to fight directly in front of police officers.

DC Police initially put out a lookout for five suspects between just 13 and 16 years old. This is during the rush hour commute on Halloween evening…

The search for an escaped prisoner, who fled on foot while STILL IN HANDCUFFS, has come to an end in Fairfax, Virginia with the suspect being arrested again after over an of being on the loose near George Mason University.

The suspect, reported to be a juvenile, managed to escape from a lone Fairfax County police officer as she was processing his arrest at the Fairfax County Juvenile Detention Center off of Judicial Drive. He was then located by Fairfax County police officers on Chain Bridge Road and West Ave at around 4:15pm, which is just a few blocks away from the juvenile jail.

The following ‘Urgent Mason Alert’ was sent out to GMU students and staff: “University Police seeking escaped inmate from Fairfax County Jail last seen running toward GMU Fairfax Campus described as Hispanic male, slender build, short/dark hair, dark colored shirt, and jeans, possibly handcuffed Call 911 if seen. See email for more information.” h/t

Fairfax County Police’s Fairfax-1 🚁 assisted from above, as well as the City of Fairfax Police and George Mason University Police. A police command post was set up at School Street and Chain Bridge Road before the arrest was made. Police have now mostly cleared the area.
