I can’t believe my 1st born is 6 years old! Someone please tell me where did the time go?!

Of course, we celebrated at his favorite place & had a ball at the indoor park & waterpark! At this point, we should just get a room there because we love it so much. 🤣

The Davis’ take The Big Apple! 🍎

This is your sign to pack up the kids and take the trip! The kids & I had such a blast in NYC! We stayed in Times Square & did all the touristy things. From sightseeing, to stuffing our faces with pizza, to walking around & watching street performances, to taking a street vendor up on his offer of capturing these pictures. We had so much fun and to think I almost didn’t bring them along on my work trip. I’m so glad I did as this weekend will forever live in my heart. ❤️

Mommy + Me 🖤

Every year on my child’s 1st birthday, I do a Mommy & Me photoshoot, not just to celebrate their milestone, but to celebrate myself for bringing another life into this world. Because only a mother truly knows what that first year postpartum is like. The sleepless nights. The around-the-clock feedings. The ni**le sores, the endless diapers, the physical recovery (and if you’ve had a C-section like myself, that’s a whole other layer). The mood swings, the moments of not feeling like yourself… the list goes on and on. But one thing’s for certain, mothers are strong, resilient, and will endure anything for their babies.

Shoutout to all the mamas out there who sacrifice so much to bring life into this world. Don’t forget to celebrate yourself too, mama. You deserve it! 🫶🏾

Christian’s 1st Birthday 🖤

My baby. My strong-willed, courageous, and lovable last baby boy. Becoming your mother was a beautiful reminder of God’s promise to give me the desires of my heart. You are my walking, laughing, shining answered prayer. You’ve filled our lives with joy, laughter, and so much excitement. Thank you for completing our family and for reminding me daily of God’s goodness.

You survived one whole year in our big, fat, loud, fun, and wild Ethiopian-American family! 🤣 Congratulations baby! May God continue to bless you and watch over you all the days of your life. Mommy loves you soooo much! ❤️

It’s been awhile since I attended a Congressional Black Caucus event and whew I had a time! It quickly reminded me of why I love the DMV. The beauty, the brilliance, the elegance, the class, I can go on and on.

Jonas’ Kindergarten Graduation 🎓🎉🥹

Still trying to wrap my mind around how we got here. How are we already celebrating graduations when it feels like you were just born? I’m so incredibly proud of you, my sweet boy. You are deeply empathetic, endlessly curious, and wise beyond your years, but above all, you’re kind and full of love. I couldn’t have asked for a better firstborn.

Loving you, guiding you, and witnessing your first of many milestones has truly been my greatest honor. This is only the beginning. God has extraordinary plans for your life, and I’m so blessed to have a front-row seat. Always keep Him first and remember, the sky is the limit.
