😢 Another childhood star we grew up with gone too soon! 🕊 CANCER SUCKS! 🎀 My sincere condolences goes out to the family of Danielle Spencer (June 24, 1965 – August 11, 2025. 🙏🏾 Danielle was a child star best known for her role as Dee Thomas on the ABC sitcom What's Happening!!, which ran from 1976 until 1979. I was heavily influenced by her brash wit and her sassy demeanor and was Always compared to her as a kid 😂😅 Loved every moment she was onscreen! Sleep in Peace Queen! ❤️💞❤️

😢Noooooooo not Theo! Today we mourn the devastating loss of actor, Malcom Jamal Warner (Aug 18, 1970 - July 21, 2025). The actor was in Costa Rica on a family vacation and drowned while swimming, a source confirms to PEOPLE magazine. This feels personal to me yall 🥲…. We grew up watching Malcolm play Theo Huxtable on The Cosby Show 1984-1992. Gone way too soon bro, RIP! 🕊️🙏🏾

Remembering the “Purple One” 💜 (June 7, 1958) Prince Rogers Nelson! Today he would have turned 67. Selling over 100 million copies worldwide, producing 10 platinum albums, 30 top 40 singles, his genius lives on through his music, our memories of his performances and countless achievements which include being inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame, 7 Grammy Awards, a Golden Globe and an Oscar! Although I’ve never agreed with MLK’s non-violent approach, which back then to me seemed more like he was begging for acceptance and inclusion from irrational oppressors, I can at least say he stood for something! He had guts, he had balls, he had vision and he had the audacity! MLK was fearless….he was able to organize, influence and unify with that mindset…all the things WE lack the ability to do today. I was more of a Malcom X (By any means necessary) mindset…. Still am BUT as an elder now I can appreciate that it takes a combination of both types of mindsets to create a movement… a change. I don’t have all the answers Sway but I know that we’re missing key ingredients as a collective: fear of losing what we have, fear of being left standing alone, fear of retaliation … the list goes on. What WE should be scared of is going backward. You will lose everything you’ve worked for if you don’t grow a pair! We will lose everything we’ve accomplished as a collective if WE don’t stand up and change our mindset. Be bold, be fearless, be determined, be together!! Today WE celebrating a man that would be ashamed of how WE have fumbled all that he worked toward by being scary and obedient to the oppressor. Being ceremonious every January is not honoring MLK….you’re actually disrespecting his legacy by allowing yourself to be controlled by your oppressor after all these years by being obedient and complacent just to exist and remain in the same condition he fought and died to get you out of! What are WE doing?
