Violence against women is never okay. Violence like what Dolores Huerta and the two little girls, Ana Murguia and Debra Rojas, (now adults) is not something you can sweep under the rug or turn away from āfor the greater good.ā
So many men have decided now is the time they care about CC because of what he did for chicanos. These same men are NOT fighting against ICE or standing up for immigrants today. Things that they can actually do to see results but they stay attacking women who are speaking up and keeping our communities educated and empowered.
Machismo and marianismo are colonial plagues in our society. Itās the reason we have maga latinos. They like seeing power on stage.
In order for us to heal from this we need to push these people out of our communities and ostracize them. They cannot be a part of our village until they have done the work to acknowledge the harm and pain theyāve done to us. If that.
