Adams Morgan is home to generations of organizing to build a liberated and inclusive community. Work in this neighborhood reshaped the social terrain and had wide-ranging implications.
Neighborhood Power is an interactive multimedia installation that weaves the stories of community leaders, activists, and residents who came together and changed the world. Watch the teaser.
The installation is on display in Walter Pierce Park, at 2630 Adams Mill Road, NW, from September 10th to September 30th. Bring headphones for the full experience.
Three pop-up film screenings and community conversations will happen in the park September 10th, 22nd, and 30th at 730pm. Bring a lawn chair/blanket and anything that will help you be comfortable outdoors.
History, art, and film are vital tools in contemporary efforts to sustain community in the face of displacement, gentrification, and economic violence. Join us in the park, and please help spread the word.
