I think the kids look more like my brothers kids than mine😹

Traveling across the country with two sets of twins and a bulldog isn’t the easiest. We’ve had car trouble, hit some really bad weather, and I lost Joey in North Carolina (he’s my teddy bear that I’ve slept with every night for like 35 years). But we’ve gotten to see friends and family and have made some lasting memories!

I was a young woman, then a wife, then a mother and a wife. I lost myself at some point, then I found a new version of me. But then I lost it again😢
Now, I’m finding a new new version of me. The version that is a wife, mama, and a woman putting herself first (sometimes).
I’m putting myself, my health, and wants at the top of the list now! I’m confident in who I am and where I’m going in life.

I just realized I never shared Coco and Yaya’s cap and gown photos from pre-k! And since y’all have watched them go from newborns to kindergartners, I think it’s only fair I share this huge milestone with you!
And here’s an update on how kindergarten is going for them. Y’all know Yaya was not happy about starting kindergarten but she loves it now. And one of her friends from pre-k even sits at her table with her now! Coco is still happy about kindergarten and loves her teacher!

First day of first grade!
Funny story, we were at Kings Dominion (an amusement park) standing in line. There was a boy with his mom behind us. He was super outgoing and talking to everyone. He asked me, why do they have the same face but different clothes😹 I said… well, they’re twins. Which really doesn’t mean anything because Coco and Yaya look nothing alike. But I didn’t have an answer to the question and he had a good point. They do kinda have the same face😹

There are two types of kids😹
Now this is the strange thing about them. On camera and around us Coco is outgoing and sassy. She’s excited about going to school but once she gets there she’s quiet and hangs around Yaya most of the time. Yaya on the other hand hates going to school but once she’s settled she’s friends with everyone.
This just goes to show, not all twins have similar personalities.

How was this 5 years ago?
I look back and think, wow it was easier back when they were all little. I just had to make bottles and change diapers.
But what I’m forgetting is how I was in survival mode. I never slept, the only way I had a hot meal is if I ate it out of a bag in the car on the way home. We were alone in California, my husband left for work at 5 am and got home around 6 pm. He was working on his Masters degree then so it was pretty much, school, food, then sleep for him. I changed about 12 diaper’s before noon, never watched tv or got to read…. But, if I could go back for an hour to hold them, smell them, kiss them, as small babies… I would.

One of our favorite things to do this summer is go to the dog park! I wish it was closer, if it was we’d go everyday❤️ but then I probably wouldn’t get much accomplished at home😹
