MUMBI PHIRI ENDORSES DOLIKA FOR PF PRESIDENT

Former Patriotic Front (PF) Secretary General Mumbi Phiri has accused the current PF leadership of being selfish and failing to provide direction as the party heads towards the next elections.

Speaking in a live phone conversation streamed on Facebook, Phiri said she has lost confidence in the present PF leadership, describing them as individuals only interested in personal gain rather than the future of the party.

She expressed support for little-known politician Dorika Banda, who has declared her intention to contest the presidency.

Phiri said Banda’s bold decision gave her comfort, arguing that new leadership is necessary if Zambia is to move forward.

Phiri further criticised the PF’s record in government, claiming that years of disorganisation and poor governance left the country in crisis.

She pointed to cases where former leaders left office only to face jail while appearing to have amassed great personal wealth, which she described as evidence of selfishness and looting.

Political observers note that several former PF leaders, including Joseph Malanji and Bowman Lusambo, have been associated with immense personal wealth, with some described as billionaires after leaving office.

Despite this, their continued push to return to political power has raised concerns among critics who argue that their ambitions appear driven more by self-interest than by service to the public. Analysts warn that this persistence reflects a pattern where leaders, even after amassing great fortunes, still seek further opportunities to exploit state resources.

Phiri added that the decline of the PF has left some leaders attaching themselves to any presidential aspirant in order to remain politically relevant.

Her endorsement of Dorika Banda now raises questions about the positions of senior PF figures such as Raphael Nakachinda and Given Lubinda, who are seen as central to the party’s current leadership structure.

ECZ IS SQUEEZING BY-ELECTIONS TOO TIGHT, COMPLAINS M'MEMBE

Fred M’membe has complained that the Electoral Commission of Zambia is squeezing by-election dates too close to each other.

M'membe says it is difficult for him to find candidates on short notice to file for by-elections.

In the current Bill in parliament, there is a proposal to remove by-elections and instead a political party that held the seat during the general election can pick one of their members to replace the one who resigns or dies as opposed to by-elections which have been costing money but M'membe doesn't want this and instead he is complaining

LUBINDA STOLE 300, 000 DOLLARS DONATED BY LATE EDGAR LUNGU’S FRIENDS FOR THE FUNERAL - MUNDUBILE

A section leader of PF Brian Mundubile has accused another section leader of the PF Given Lubinda as having stolen 300, 000 dollars meant for Edgar Lungu’s funeral.

Mundubile also says Raphael Nakacinda stole 150, 000 dollars.

"There is hunger at the PF secretariat and I am tired of people calling me Honourable, Honourable asking for money and yet uyu Lubinda and Nakachinda stole money from businessmen who contributed for Edgar's funeral," lamented Mundubile.

OUR ADVICE TO ANTONIO MWANZA

By Koswe Editors

Dear Antonio Mwanza. Please ignore this picture of yours but focus on our EDITORIAL.

We have noted that you own a political party. This is very good. You are among the few not young people with a bit of hope to Zambians especially after Hakainde Hichilema is done with his last term in 2031.

Our advice to you now is that don't mix with these very bitter and dying old politicians living in their 11th hour.

Believe us, trust us or not but as Hichilema will be sworn in come 2026 for his second term, M'membe would have lost half his teeth due to age, Kalaba will be looking forward to Bushiri for life miracles, Sean Tembo will be truly retired by Maza comedy.

Others calling themselves ichabaiche, will be without salt. Politics is about time. Short term and long term.

For now, focus on growing your party, mobilising resources and also ensuring that you are socially, economically and politically stable.

But if you want to lose your salt, join these bitter and sadistic old faces and see how you will last for weeks only.

If you play your cards well, you can even have one or two councillors or an MP and that would be a bargaining tool for you.

Anyway, for us, we were there when Elias Chipimo got on the political scene and many called him Obama and we are seeing a lot of male boys swinging their tails as possible presidents and while ambitions must be allowed, you got to manage the same or you risk burying your head in the sand like an ostrich in the desert looking for water.

Look around this country and ask yourself who will be President of Zambia after Hichilema in 2031 and if you can't see anyone, then Antonio, grow your part with respect, not pompous and talking anyhow or anywhere. As a politician, when you talk, people must listen and not them saying aba nabo so ni njala ya munyokola.

All things being equal, you were going to represent Munali constituency one day but seems Thomas Sipalo is ahead of you as he looks focused on the same.
