Most people use Claude like Google.
One question โ one answer โ close the tab.
That's why they stay stuck. No systems. No automation. No leverage.
Here's how to actually build a Claude OS in 7 days ๐
๐ DAY 1โ2: Understand your tools
There are three ways to work with Claude โ and most people only use one.
โ Chat (claude.ai) โ quick questions, one-off tasks
โ Projects (claude.ai) โ persistent workspace with memory, files, and custom instructions
โ Cowork (Claude Desktop app) โ Claude executes full tasks on your computer autonomously
Most people live in Chat. That's leaving 80% of the value on the table.
Action: Open Claude โ click Projects โ create one today. Add a system prompt with your role, audience, and goals. That one step puts you ahead of most users.
๐ DAY 2โ3: Build your Claude OS
Stop prompting randomly. Build a structure inside your Project:
โ ABOUT ME โ your tone, rules, audience
โ ACTIVE PROJECTS โ one folder per project
โ TEMPLATES โ prompts you reuse weekly
โ OUTPUTS โ where Claude writes
Paste ABOUT ME into your Project instructions. No more re-explaining yourself every session.
๐ DAY 3โ4: Replace prompts with files
Two files beat 50 random prompts.
โ about-me.md โ your background, goals, writing style
โ anti-ai-style.md โ what Claude should NEVER do or say
Upload both to your Project. Every output starts sounding like you โ not a generic AI.
๐ DAY 4โ5: Let Claude think
Stop telling Claude what to write. Give it problems instead.
Try these:
โ "Here's my situation: [X]. Give me 3 options with tradeoffs."
โ "Rank these by ROI given [your constraints]."
โ "Build a 5-step plan. Flag what I might miss."
You become the decision-maker. Claude becomes the operator.
๐ DAY 5โ6: Connect it to your stack
Claude alone is powerful. Claude inside your workflow is a different category.
Connect it to tools like Google Drive, Notion, or Slack through MCP connectors โ Claude can pull context, draft outputs, and push work forward without you coordinating every step.
Now Claude isn't answering questions. It's moving work.
๐ DAY 6โ7: Automate the repeatable stuff
Find 3 tasks you do every week. For each one:
โ Write a one-paragraph brief of exactly what you want
โ Save it as a template in your Project
โ Run it with one click next time
You're not "using AI" anymore. You're running a system.
That's it. 7 days. One layer at a time.
After day 7 you won't ask Claude questions. You'll assign Claude work.
Do this today ๐
Save this post (you'll come back to it)
