In a mission to promote self-expression and positivity, Armin van Buuren has made an appearance on Dutch TV show Make Up Your Mind in full drag.

The trance legend appeared on the show over the weekend, which pits drag queens against unknown celebrities dressed in drag and asks them to walk the runway in front of a judging panel.

Armin van Buuren appeared as ‘Mystery Queen’ Daisy Bell, dressed in a white and black dress with a large gold collar, dark brown wig, and a gold fascinator hat in the shape of a traditional Dutch house.

"Hey guys, it’s Armin, not in my usual outfit," he said in a video shared to his stories after the show. "But with this, I want to make a statement and invite everybody to party worldwide, but be who you want to be. Feel free, feel safe, and look after each other."

The A State Of Trance founder then went on to explain how music and dancing have "always been about freedom, expression and bringing people together".

"I want everyone to be themselves and feel safe on dancefloors worldwide," he said. "I'm proud to have taken part in this and hopefully remind you that it's okay to be exactly who you want to be."
