After years and years and years, I was actually excited for Eid. I don’t know why, but I was never the person who got excited about matching outfits, jewelry, bangles, sandals, or makeup. I never really did anything special before.
But this time, I wanted to make it special. I wanted to feel special and look special. I had a vision for my whole look, and for once, I actually did exactly what I wanted.
I’ve spent so much of my life worrying about things I can’t control. Now I’m just trying to become a little better with myself every day.
The quote “happiness is in the small things” finally started making sense to me.
I don’t know if anyone else will relate to this feeling, but I definitely don’t want to be the person who feels unexcited about special occasions anymore. No matter what, I want to try my best to make moments feel special and to feel special myself.
