Savage Mode 2

Not many artists in rap live up to the characters they portray in their music. Most are sub-par squeaky-voiced teenage child actors who live a wannabe gangsta lifestyle and are geniuses in marketing themselves because of it (Industry Plants), but few are really from the places they speak of.

Over time, usually, even the "Real Ones" slowly change, due mostly in part to their difference in lifestyle that comes as a result of their newly acquired wealth. Surprisingly, however, 21 Savage has been able to maintain his character and live up to what he raps. Practicing what he preaches, he has managed to keep his character intact while never forgetting where he's come from. Savage Mode 2 is a tribute to 21 Savage's and Metro Boomin's continued success within the music industry and refusal to give up on their past life's characters while pushing progression and futurism within rap.

Savage Mode was a collaborative mixtape by Atlanta-based rapper 21 Savage and American record producer Metro Boomin. It was released in 2016 on SoundCloud and Savage Mode 2 (the album) is the sequel to that mixtape. Savage Mode 2 is a cinematic themed composition produced by the genius that is Metro Boomin and written by the author of the streets 21 Savage. The album has a dark, slow-moving, nightcrawler vibe to it and the theme of the album is "Kill or Be Killed", it pushes that narrative effortlessly. There are narrations from the great Morgan Freeman and features from the likes of Drake, Young Thug, and Young Nudy. However, what we love most about the album is that even with the great features, it doesn't seem flooded and fluffed. The album is more of a one-on-one discussion between its listeners and 21 Savage and because 21 Savage is so believable, the album is very captivating.

The Internet Money collective lead by producer Taz Taylor has released a new album entitled B4 The Storm and it’s a fun-filled, highly energetic vibe.

Internet Money Records is a record producer collective and record label co-founded by Taz Taylor and Nick Mira. A blend of a YouTube channel, a record label, and a producer union. Internet Money is a medium for producers to sell beats, as well as an aggregator for producers and creatives. Placing it within respects of the album is a platform that provides a voice or marketing stage for the collective to work from.

The album itself is a mixture of sounds you can come to expect from the likes of Lil Tecca, Swae Lee, Trippie Red, Lil Mosy, Juice WRLD, Wiz Khalifa, and more. The album purely acts as an ignition to a good time and is just an all-around treat to listen to if you love new-aged hip hop. No matter if you play it in a car, a party, or a gym it will not disappoint, there’s something here for everyone. We recommend giving the album a listen and of course voting and writing a review for the album on Vibecourt! Link in bio.

With the "vibe-drought" in full effect this week, we've run across something we missed and have thought long and hard about posting. A leak of Kendrick Lamar feat. Baby Keem on a song called Gotta Love Me has surfaced on Youtube and it's huge for Baby Keem.

If you're not familiar with Kendrick Lamar and his work, you should be. As for Baby Keem, he is an up and coming artist that has released some pretty good music over the past year. Baby Keem is actually Kendrick Lamar's cousin and it is no surprise his first big feature would be on Kendricks album. However, we don't believe for one second that him being featured on the album was just because they're cousins. Baby Keem has put in a lot of recognizable work and proved himself to be a game-changer. Don't believe us? Go check out his last album entitled Die For My B**** and tell us if we're wrong.

As for the song, however, it's a definite vibe and will more than likely be featured as an R&B themed interlude of sorts on the upcoming album. There is a lot to love about the song and we think it will act as a settle break from the deep lyricism Kendrick will most likely pour into the project. The album has been rumored to release in the next couple of weeks (Nearly at or exactly on the same date as Drakes "Certified Lover Boy"), it'll be interesting to see how things play out and what the project will sound like.

In this Topsy-Turvy world drowned out with unwanted re-replicated monotonous sounds lies a great album by Glass Animals entitled Dreamland. The album is labeled as "Pop", but we think it's more electronic and on the cusp of being an alternative/EDM breed of its own. The album is different in a good way and is a chill yet invigorating listening experience.

Dreamland is, as the title so effortlessly defines, a "Dreamland" of musical composition that is slightly comparable to that of falling freely in a dream. The album has great highs, tremendous lows, and provides a symphony-like sound of synths that are soft and colorful. The overall vibe is light and uplifting and slow in tempo. The album also boasts life reflective content due to the band's drummer Joe Seaward having a bicycle accident in 2018 which left him paralyzed. Joe has since recovered and the result of his time spent in and out of hospitals is sowed within parts of the albums lyrical composition.

Dreamland is a truly a great album and we recommend listening. Vote and write your own review of the album on Vibecourt!

Looking for a straight vibe? Look no further, Thouxanbanfauni's new album CLAIRVOYANCE is that vibe. The album is a dark, drippy, space-like night-time themed rap album that's filled with toxicity, bad-boy aurora, Travis Scott/Lil U*i inspired instrumentation and it's probably one of the smoothest albums we've heard from a new rapper this year.

Thouxanbanfauni is an odd, but very interesting artist that pays attention to the sound of his music and that is very apparent. If you're not listening to music for the lyrics or content, but just looking to chill out and vibe, this album will fill that need. The album has almost no features, but the ones it does like Lil Yachty on TOKYO DRIFT and 12TiiDee on ENGAGE fit and gell well together. Looking back on listening through a few times, however, we believe these features aren't that necessary and the album would've been even better had it just been Thouxanbanfauni all the way. Putting it simply, if you're a fan of the likes of Lil U*i, Travis Scott, or Playboi Carti and enjoy that sound, you will love this album because Thouxanbanfauni has been heavily influenced and his ex*****on is well done (not discrediting his uniqueness though).

Taylor Swift's folklore album is Taylor Swift's best album yet. During her quarantine Taylor, like many other artists, decided to switch things up and make an alternative album, this theme has been popular amongst artists lately given the current state of the world and allows for artists to be more involved and grounded in their work. The album is miles different from Taylor’s previous work and is a drastic change in her composition.

folklore is a soft, somber, cinematic love songs packed body of work layered with Taylor’s satisfactory-like vocals. Taylor’s ability to write great songs that appeal to a broader audience has never been in question. Moreover, a lot of people who don’t even listen to Taylor’s work can and will admit that. However, as of late, her delivery hasn’t matched her skilled lyricism, but here, in folklore, it does. folklore is Taylor’s way of reflecting and truly opening up the door and letting her fans into a more vulnerable side she has, in our opinion, kept under wraps for so long. Giving light and a breath of fresh air to her discography, folklore takes center stage and is an album people will remember if they're a Swifty...

We think you should give folklore a listen because you may find something in it you can relate to. Listen, vote, and write your review of folklore on Vibecourt. Link in bio. @ Washington D.C.

Logic has long been a controversial artist mainly for his inability to deliver a consistent sound and being somewhat hypocritical in his lyrics and approach to music. All that said though, No Pressure is great. Logic has gone back to the drawing board, cut out all the BS, and focused on delivering a good album.

Within No Pressure, Logic speaks on his life journey, past influences, future, and criticisms. He doesn’t hide, duck, or dodge the hate and addresses all of the things people have said about his head-on. In doing this, he also lets people know where he’s at in life, speaking about his son, family, wealth, mental state, and newfound happiness.

This album is Logic’s last release and he says he will be retiring after No Pressure. We, however just believe he is taking a pause on his career to raising his son and hope he comes back with more music like this.

Oliver Tree delivers a worthwhile surprising album entitled Ugly
Is Beautiful and we think the title explains it all. While being an alternative album, Ugly Is Beautiful doesn’t follow traditional compositions but instead takes a hard left at the fork and embarks on a less-traveled path. It throws random surprises like moments of 90’s Hip/Hop, Rock, Electronic, and even more experimental genre sounds all at once with accuracy and does so in a way that keeps listeners engaged...

The album is a weird frenzy of melodies and random vocals that in combination with estranged instrumentation gells together nicely and creates a work of art. Due to its difference in sound composition, arrangement, and vocal structure the album is unlike anything we've heard before. Ugly Is Beautiful is very out of the ordinary and oddly perfect in its own way. We think its worth a listen and recommend it for its sheer obscurity and uniqueness. Lianne La Havas self-named album release entitled Lianne La Havas is a warm and truly remarkable introduction to Lianne La Havas. The amount of work, time, and dedication in expressing herself within this piece of art shine brightly. The album is a true R&B classic with soft vocals, elegant backdrops of mixed R&B, and Brazillian sounds and to top it off, Lianne delivers buttery smooth vocals effortlessly.

Lianne's vibe throughout this album is a softer, more relaxed side of R&B we're not used to hearing, and her voice is very different from the norm. There are also some very heavy alternative/alternative-rock influences that are a great addition to the overall body of work. Lianne pays attention to the detail in her instrumentation and flows alongside it with grace instead of interruption. We really appreciate the earthiness of this album and applaud her for this record. Listen, vote, and write your own review of the album on Vibecourt! Link in bio.

My Morning Jackets The Waterfall II is a mystical journey into the hippy themed world filled with a warm, soft, and sensual vibe. The album has a sound very indicative of the group's previous contemporary work and is a reflection of the band's ups and downs and troubles they've faced throughout this pandemic and life.

The album has a very psychedelic soft-rock alternative sound and is brought together by the band's lead singer vocals which are pure, down to earth, and raw. It's almost as if this album was recorded outside in the '70s on the side of a mountain somewhere where no worries exist. Truly a warm welcome to the band's return and especially comforting and needed during this time. We think this is a perfect release for people who appreciate this type of music and is a good representation of how we can all look back on sounds of the past and incorporate them in music today.
