BREAKING NEWS: DONALD TRUMP HAS BEEN IMPEACHED.

The President of the United States of America, Donald J. Trump was on Wednesday 18/12/2019 impeached by the U.S House of Representatives.

Trump was impeached by the House for Abuse of Power/Office and Obstruction of Congress.

Donald Trump becomes the third U.S. president to be impeached as the House of Representatives formally charged him on Wednesday with abuse of power and obstructing Congress.

With the impeachment, Donald Trump becomes the the third U.S President in history to be impeached after Andrew Jackson and Bill Clinton.

However, in the U.S the impeachment by the House of Representatives does not amount to automatic removal from office. It only acts an indictment of the President on the charges against him to be confirmed by the U.S Senate.

The impeachment therefore sets the stage for a trial in January 2020 in the Senate on whether to convict and remove the Republican president from office.

The BIG question now is, will President Trump be saved by the Senate just as Presidents Andrew Johnson and Bill Clinton before him?

PRESIDENTIAL ELECTION: Tribunal To Give Judgment On Sept 11

Daily Independence has reported that the Presidential Election Petitions Tribunal has fixed Wednesday, September 11 to deliver ruling on the winner of the 2019 presidential election by 9.30am.

According to the report "A notice sighted by our correspondent reads ” Re: CA/PEPT/ 002/2019 – ATIKU ABUBAKAR & 1 OR. VS INEC & 2 ORS TAKE NOTICE that judgment in the above petition has been slated for Wednesday, 11 September 2019 at the Court of Appeal/Presidential Petition Tribunal by 9.30am”.
