We love our CMEA director! Check out her work

“I prepare students from underrepresented populations to access and succeed in higher education with the ultimate goal of uplifting the University’s ethos of “Community in Diversity.” By serving as Director of the Center for Multicultural Equity and Access, which supports underrepresented students historically denied access to higher education because of race or ethnicity, I assist the Center in providing academic support services, diversity education, multicultural programming, and college access to youth and families in DC. Engagement across dimensions of difference and a whole institution approach to social and racial justice are core to shaping true community in diversity.”

But I was arrogant enough to push back and to retort: “Well, I guess I’ll just have to be the first.”

We would like your help in writing the Black Book of Georgetown, a document intended to assist Black students in their transition to college and more specifically, Georgetown. This document seeks to do this by identifying different resources and communities for Black students to engage with both on and off campus. The Black Book will feature four sections which are listed below:

- History of Black Georgetown
- Off campus resources
- On campus clubs and organizations
- Tips and tricks to navigating Georgetown
