The “baggage” we septic shock survivors carry. 🧳No filter, just real and raw😭. 9 months post septic shock, emergency abdominal surgery, colostomy placement, and 2 months post colostomy reversal surgery.
Septic shock took my muscle mass, half my hair, my iron, my teeth, it caused my glucose to skyrocket into the 500s, and my potassium to nosedive. My TSH - thyroid, surged and we had to adjust my medication. It took my energy but gave me PTSD. I had to learn to walk again.
This was my first day of aquatic exercise therapy I desperately needed to rebuild my muscles. What followed after was two years of intensive physical therapy and aquatic exercise. I weighed only 110 lbs in the first picture.
