MEET • MAGI (MEARG) TAREKE •

Born in a small village in northern Ethiopia, Magi’s journey is nothing short of powerful. After moving to the U.S. in 2011, she earned her Doctorate in Pharmaceutical Sciences while breaking into the modeling world—landing features in Vogue.

She’s also the author of The Ashenda Girl, a children’s book inspired by her time visiting a refugee camp, and the founder of My Shoes Your Shoes, a nonprofit providing shoes to girls in developing countries. Her drive comes from lived experience — walking over three miles to school every day without shoes.
