Auschwitz II-Birkenau site. The outside barbed-wire fences of the BII sector and wooden barracks for prisoners at the men’s quarantine section (BIIa). The camp was surrounded by a single row of barbed wire installed on concrete posts. The voltage in the fence was 760 Volt.

In 1944, this Mitsubishi A6M5 Reisen (Zero) was captured on Saipan Island and sent to the United States for evaluation. A little over a year later, on July 13, 1945, it reached 93 hours and 15 minutes of flight time in Allied hands. Curatorial records show that the aircraft spent time at military bases in Ohio, Florida, D.C., and Indiana before joining the Museum collection.

The Dewoitine D.510 was a French monoplane fighter introduced in 1936. It featured an open cockpit, fixed landing gear, and a 20mm cannon firing through the propeller hub. Though advanced for its time, it was soon outdated and saw limited service before and during the early stages of World War II.
