An urgent appeal for humanitarian assistance
Deputy Prime Minister Iryna Vereshchuk appealed to the International Committee of the Red Cross and the OSCE to carry out the humanitarian work in Donbass for which they were established to create a humanitarian corridor in Kyiv region.
A humanitarian catastrophe is taking place in Volnovakha, Severodonetsk and other cities of Luhansk and Donetsk regions. The civilian population has been sitting in basements without food, water, heat and light for days.
Iryna Vereshchuk said in her appeal :
"I understand that you care about the safety of your staff, but at the same time, your internationally recognized neutral status gives you more security than our national Ukrainian structures. It is this internationally recognized neutral status that gives you the opportunity to do the humanitarian work for which you were created. We expected more real support and assistance from international humanitarian organizations. If Red Cross and the OCSE are unable to carry out your humanitarian work directly in Donbass. we ask you to provide us with urgent assistance by road and, most importantly, I urge you to do everything possible to provide humanitarian corridors in Donbass for the evacuation of civilians, especially women, children, the elderly and disable."
She also called on humanitarian organizations to officially and unequivocally declare who is preventing them from fulfilling their humanitarian mandate if they fail to do their job due to the danger posed to them by the Russian army.
Furthermore, Iryna Vereshchuk urged: If no one will help, if no one will take responsibility, then who are we? Are we human then? Are we worthy to be called human? We need help today. And this help will come, it will be, and we will go to victory together "
PLEASE HELP TO CREAT HUMANITARIAN CORIDORS IN LUHANSK AND DONETSK REGIONS!!!!
