The world lost an American icon today: Robert Redford was a legend of the big screen, a champion of the creative community, an actor and artist known as a dogged journalist, an idealistic political candidate, a Sundance Kid, a natural.

He dedicated his life to filmmaking and believed in its power to inspire, educate, unite, move, and shine a light on who we are as an audience and who we can be as a society.

We will miss his brilliance, on and off set. But his voice will stay with us in the stories he told.

The 2025 MPA Awards shined the spotlight on extraordinary figures in producing creative masterpieces and protecting creative content.

We were thrilled to honor Jon M. Chu for his stunning work on screen, recognize Sen. John Thune, Sen. Chris C***s, and Rep. Darrell Issa for their stellar leadership on Capitol Hill, and lift up the IPR Center and Director Ivan Arvelo’s efforts to defend intellectual property.
