Over the past twenty years, we have released a lot of music. Today, on a Bandcamp Friday, we release something very different from all that has come before on our little label - Dave Vosh's The Unknowable.

Dave has been making music for five decades. Yesterday, he turned 70 and today, we release his first double album on CD. 80+ minutes of modular synthesis!

Dave corresponded with Stockhausen, has collaborated with Dr. Mabuse, and has made music with all sorts of incredible musicians like Ken Moore and Daniel Barbiero.

The Unknowable is based on the place and time at or near the creation of everything - all that is and perhaps all that has been and will ever be - beyond which astrophysicists can see. We are not astrophysicists, but that seems like one hell of an inspiration.

Our first release this year will be Dave Vosh's The Unknowable. It is a double disc set of modular synthesis in line with some of the greats like Morton Subotnick and Delia Derbyshire.

The cicadas are coming to the Midwest. Three years ago, Brood X engulfed the Mid-Atlantic. We put out a 20-track compilation based solely on field recordings of Brood X.

Today, we release a compilation called Noise for Ukraine. For those who curated the album, it is deeply personal. For those on the compilation, it is a show of solidarity with the victims of an unjust war. But music that supports a serious cause doesn't have to be overly serious.

Open Call for a Compilation for Ukraine

We are calling musicians and sound artists from all over the world.

We are extremely concerned about the war in Ukraine and the aggression of Putin’s army.

We are trying to do our small part by raising money and raising awareness for the humanitarian disaster that is happening in Europe right now.

We are looking for artists from all around the world in the genres of electronic music, experimental, ambient, industrial, Techno and related styles for a compilation. We would like to make this as broad as possible, so if in doubt, please submit your tracks.

We encourage everyone from everywhere to submit. The global south, minorities, female artists, LGBTIQ*-artists, yes, we encourage Russian artists to speak up, All of you are invited to submit a track.

All proceeds from the sale of this compilation will be split evenly between the charities Vostok SOS and the Ukrainian Red Cross.

This call was initiated by the musicians from Snowbeasts (Elizabeth Virosa and Robert Galbraith from Providence, USA} and Kai Niggemann (Köln, Germany). Please spread the word all around the world. We’d love this project to be as international and broad as possible.

The album will be a digital release on component recordings (Providence, USA) as a digital release. Due to urgency and need, we request that tracks arrive by March 10, 2022. Exclusive tracks are preferred but not required.
