Today is National Pregnancy and Infant Loss Remembrance Day. As we reflect on loss and seek prevention methods, Wayne State University is answering the call. On October 23, WSU hosts the inaugural Capitol Series event: Improving Health Outcomes for Minority Women and Their Children. This congressional briefing will highlight new research that is saving more women of color and their babies in the delivery room.

We've all heard the harrowing stories of minority women fighting to survive high-risk childbirths in the delivery room. From Beyoncé to Serena Williams and the passing of Kyriah Johnson, we know something must change. Black and brown mothers are 6 times more likely to die during childbirth than their white female counterparts.

Solomon Public Relations is assisting in the ex*****on of the first congressional briefing of the new Capital Series for Wayne State University. This briefing will share groundbreaking research with congress that will ultimately save the lives of more women of color in the delivery room.
