❄️ Çıldır Lake - a fresh water lake between Kars and Ardahan. Name drives from Georgian “Crdilis” meaning Lake of Shadows. Elevation of the area is 1959m (6420 ft) - 123 km2 - Lake freezes in winter

Anadolu Kavağı once called as Hieron was an important location for the Romans and Byzantines.
It served as a refuge for ships to shelter from storms of the Black Sea. It is a fishing village, and keep its atmosphere with a small mosque by Ali Pasha of Midilli (Le**os) in 1593, and its fountain by Cevriye Hatun in 1785.
Ruinous Yoros Castle, an old Genoese fortress, stands on the hill above the village.
A daily ferry offers sailings to and from Üsküdar as well as from Eminönü
