Founded in 2016 by Trish Glowacki, a parent who recognized the need for more and better mental health

Through informative and entertaining short films and accompanying materials, glow media will educate youths, their families, and educators, in an effort to reduce stigma, correct misconceptions, and reinforce the reality that mental health affects everyone.

On this Grief Awareness Day and Overdose Awareness Day, we honor both the pain of loss and the urgent need for awareness.
In 2011, Glowmedia’s founder, Trish Glowacki, lost her son Charlie to an OxyContin overdose at just 21 years old. Charlie was bright, compassionate, and full of hope, as reflected in his own words about living with love, respect, and positive energy. His life and legacy remind us why conversations around mental health and substance misuse matter so deeply.

Grief never leaves us, but through storytelling and open dialogue, we can break the silence that so often surrounds mental health and substance use. Glowmedia exists to create spaces where young people feel seen, supported, and less alone in their struggles.

We hold space for every parent, sibling, and friend carrying the weight of loss. And we reaffirm our mission: to bring awareness, compassion, and connection so that fewer families have to walk this same path.💜 If you or someone you love is struggling, know that help exists. You are not alone.
