Mahmoud Messadi (Tunisian Arabic: محمود المسعدي‎; 28 January 1911 – 16 December 2004) was a Tunisian author and intellectual.

Mahmoud Messadi is considered the founder of a special literary school in the Arab world. He "is one of the few modern authors of the 20th century who has succeeded in artistically exposing the Oriental Arab soul, its size and its contradictions".

Messadi graduated from the Sadiki College in Tunis and studied Arabic language and literature at the Sorbonne in Paris. After Tunisia's independence (1956), he was Minister of Education (1958-1968), then Minister of Culture (1973-1976).

He was responsible for the modernization of the Tunisian education system and the establishment of the Tunisian university.

أعلن وزير الشؤون الثقافية محمد زين العابدين إحداث صندوق لينا بن مهني لدعم المشاريع الثقافية الشبابية". تكريما لروح لينا وما حملته من إيمان وعزم وصدق في إعلاء صوت الشباب الكادح المؤمن بثقافة العمل والابتكار والخلق والإصرار والتحدي.. وحتى تبقى لينا حاضرة بيننا حضور الأفكار والجمال..
هذا الصندوق يسعى لدعم المبادرات الشبابية لمن هم دون سن الأربعين سنة، وتنمية قدراتهم من خلال تشجيعهم على التفكير والإبداع وإطلاق روح المبادرة وتبني المشاريع الريادية والخلاقة والإبداعية. ويحاول إيجاد مقاربات إستراتيجية جديدة لإعادة هيكلة طريقة العمل صلب وزارة الشؤون الثقافية فيما يخص مسألة التمويل العمومي الموجه لأصحاب الأفكار والباعثين الشبان وتوجيه اهتمامهم أكثر نحو الاستثمار في الصناعات الإبداعية والثقافية بأنواعها باعتبارها أحد أبرز حلقات التواصل مع الشباب التونسي الخلاق.
كما أن هذا الصندوق سيوحد كل المطالب وسيشمل كل الاختصاصات الثقافية والحرفية والصناعات الابداعية والاقتصاد الثقافي الرقمي، وستقوم الوزارة بعقد ندوة صحفية للتعريف أكثر بالصندوق وكيفية الإستفادة منه في كل الاختصاصات الثقافية.

'Fethi’s latest collection The Blind Glassblower offers
an interesting case of a poem sequence or poem cycle, which is similar in its conception and aesthetic orientations to the short-story cycle. The collection is energized by an intricate network of reverberations, cross-references, recurrent images, places, and themes. The blind glassblower is the major persona linking the collection which chronicles his life and work. While glassblowing symbolizes the act of writing poetry, blindness stands as a metaphor of dissidence. The poet refuses to take part in a corrupt world'"
