Aura Media is seeking actors and actresses of all ages to be part of our short film projects and spec commercials for the months of September, October and early November. This is a non-union / unpaid gig. We offer the opportunity to be a part of a creative production and professional looking footage for your reel/portfolio. If you are interested in assisting in any crew positions ( camera, audio, PA) feel free to apply as well.

The primary shooting locations will be in the Washington DC Area (including DC, Northern VA, and Southern Maryland). Please note that these short film projects are non-union and unpaid. Anyone that participates in these projects specifically the spec commercials shoots will be on our short list for when paid gig opportunities come up.

We take pride in our resourcefulness and creativity, valuing the collaborative effort between actors, crew, and the production team. We encourage your input and creative ideas about your character, fostering an environment where your talent can shine. We eagerly anticipate reviewing your submissions and potentially working with you on these projects or in the future.

Hello Filmmakers, its that creative and exciting time of year again. Early Bird Registration for the Washington DC 48 Hour Film Project is now open.

Write, shoot and edit a short film based on the genre you draw at The Kickoff and the required character, prop, and line assigned for your city. Then Premiere YOUR film in the AFI Silver Theatre and Cultural Center! The winner of Best Film goes to Filmapalooza in March 2025, and is eligible for a spot in our screening at the Cannes Film Festival Short Film Corner!

Competition weekend takes place on May 3-5. Register your team here.

A wild and sleepless yet creative competition weekend, in which teams compete to make the best short fiction film in 48 hours, using a genre, prop, character and line as required elements. Then see it premiered in the local Cinema.
