🥲Rest Easy K-9 Doc 💙🕊️
"A little after 2 pm today, our world, Mikes world stood still. The gates opened and the great German Shepherd from Hungary, K9 Doc, made his grand entrance at the rainbow bridge. He was a fierce leader, a loyal partner and the greatest boy to protect his dad, Officer Mike. Life will never be the same without the gentle giant, and I don’t think time will ever heal the broken hearts left in his passing. I do know, that any Kongs at the rainbow bridge will now become his. It’s just Docs rules. His world. We just lived in it. I can speak for all of us when I say he will be forever missed. A void that will echo daily and a love that will last a lifetime. He was tired and he was ready. Go fetch em all up buddy. I am sure K9 Rex is waiting for you. Look over all of us and protect your dad from above. He will always need you. Don’t forget about us down here. Until we meet again our sweet boy. Close those tired eyes.

A K9 this great, with a stellar career deserves his final radio call. He loved getting his vest on and going to work. He was an amazing bad a$$. Thank you once again to our friends at Blackberry Veterinary Center, PLLC. Thank you will never be enough.

"Valley Com K921……..Valley Com K921……..
All units, stand by for a final call.
This is the last radio transmission for K9 Doc, beloved partner of Officer Mike. K9 Doc faithfully served with Mike at Tukwila Police Department for 6 years as a Single Purpose Apprehension Dog.
🐾 Achieved Master Handler Status with Mike

💙Over 500 deployments

🐾Over 300 captures of bad guys/girls

💙Zero bad bites/accidental bites

Today, we honor a hero—not one who wore a uniform, but one who wore a badge on his collar and carried bravery in his heart.
K9 Doc served not for recognition or reward, but out of loyalty, instinct, and love for his partner and community.

Through long nights and dangerous days, Doc stood by Mike's side—first through the door, last to retreat, and always ready to protect.
He asked for nothing but a command, a pat on the head,

😘Updated: Apollo’s surgery was successful and he is currently recovering under observation.

For Immediate Release:

A Rock Hill Police K9 is hospitalized after being stabbed while apprehending a suspect armed with a knife. The incident began on August 28, 2025, at 10:07 p.m. when officers responded to a home in the 900 block of Martin Avenue.

The 56-year-old female victim called reporting Travonte Tate attempted to stab her with a knife. Tate was in the yard and ran away when officers arrived. Several officers began pursuing after Tate. K9 Apollo was released to assist with the chase. Apollo was able to catch Tate and take him to the ground. While Apollo actively engaged in holding Tate for officers, Tate used a knife to stab Apollo several times. A Rock Hill Officer intervened grabbing Tate’s arm to stop him from further harming Apollo. Tate was disarmed and taken into custody. Apollo was rushed to the emergency vet where his treatment began.

The victim told officers Tate chased her to her bedroom with a knife while threatening to kill her over belongings he stored in the home. Two other individuals inside the home were able to pull Tate away allowing the victim to call police.

Based on the investigation, Tate, 35 of Rock Hill, was charged with Attempted Murder, Possession of a Weapon During a Crime of Violence, Resisting Arrest with a Deadly Weapon, and Unlawful to torture, mutilate, injure, disable, poison, or kill police dog or horse.

Apollo is stable and scheduled for surgery this afternoon. Expectations are Apollo will recover and return to duty when healed. Tent

🥲Rest Easy Retired K-9 Koa 💙🕊️
"We are deeply saddened to announce the passing of retired MBPD K-9 Koa last week.

Koa was a beloved member of the Manhattan Beach Police Department from 2017 to 2024. During his time at MBPD, Koa was intrigual in apprehending multiple dangerous criminals, taking over 2,500 pounds of illegal drugs off the street, and seizing over $1 million dollars related to drug trafficking. Koa was well known around the station for startling just about every employee who walked past his patrol car with his booming bark.

Koa retired in January 2024 to live with his handler, Officer Gibbons, and his family. Koa was the life of family parties, protected the backyard from squirrels, and enjoyed long naps without worrying about chasing down criminals.

Our hearts are with Officer Gibbons and his family and we thank K-9 Koa for his dedicated service to our community."
