I totally changed my costume mid Halloween

This year I wanted to be Hades from the movie Hercules. I started out with a toga look based on the movie but it was so uncomfortable with all the safety pins keeping it in place. Before I left for the next party I completely changed it.

What would Hades wear today? I wanted a look where I could dance harder and imagine staring death in the face, and that’s what I did. I ended up with a more punk version of Hades.

So the lesson I’m taking from this is, I don’t care about how it looks, I care about how it FEELS. I want to dance, to move, to face death and say, I see you but not yet.

Every Samhain I connect with my father. I leave food out for him. This Halloween I processed some bottled up feelings, acknowledged the ways I don’t want to become my father, and shared gratitude for the things I learned from him I’m grateful for. It was a really beautiful practice, then I welcomed the sunrise by dancing on my roof. Perfect way to usher in my 37th year 🥰

Had a blast at my building’s Halloween party, an ancient Egypt themed party so my look was inspired by the Medjai from the movie The Mummy!

Hey friends, it’s been a while! I haven’t been posting a lot because I’ve been busy with grad school and it feels weird to post anything these days.

But I wanted to come on and share that I finally posted the mixes from the August Journey so if you need a dance moment (don’t we all?!?) go check out my SoundCloud, link in stories.

And this Saturday is a Journey! Come with us and dance through The Wharf, reclaim our city, shake off some stress, and connect with people in the real world. My entire life has led to this moment.

All the times wondering where I belonged, searching for my place in this world. I have shed so much that didn’t belong to me, peeled away layers of protective patterns until I found my essence and realized I needed to help others do the same. I’m so ready to dig into this work.

Just like this redwood tree, my roots are going to grow into a network, sharing resources with my grove. I can’t wait to see how high I can grow 🌳

Road trip photo dump part two!

What an adventure! Sedona was my favorite city I visited, such beautiful sights and so many really cool people. I saw so much of the country on this trip, it’s incredible how diverse the landscape is. Definitely keen to keep exploring Sedona, Denver, and sequoia national forest more someday!

Just posted my mix from my last time DJing with for Pride! I had a blast, I always love DJing for Ecstatic Dance because the dancers give so much! It’s really satisfying to watch them really get into what you’re doing. I love this community and I’m going to miss it!

Just worked with an awesome up and coming colorist who I invested in earlier this year. I’ve been wanting to dye my hair this color for years!
