RIP: Congresswoman Sheila Jackson Lee passed yesterday. Back in 2013 we coordinated a recorded message with her, calling for immigration reform during Latino Heritage month. Her office was very welcoming and receptive to our call. We are very sadden by the loss of this great champion and ally to our community. May she rest in peace.

I am saddened to share with you the news of the passing of Royal Height. The Music Ambassador, as he was known, Mr. Height was a talented musician. Some of you will remember his DC Statehood song: Taxation without Representation. A song we played many times at parades and other events throughout DC and beyond. For a period, he was a lead singer with the world famous group The Orioles. My deepest condolences to his wife, Queen Penny, and his family and friends. He will be missed.
