House was built in 1963. Stupid question: is this hardwood or subfloor? I’ve only pulled up this small alcove section, so I’m not totally screwed. But getting rid of this damn carpet would be so much better for my allergies & asthma. Any friendly advice is welcome, thank you!!!

We just had a new driveway poured. My wife wanted to hose it off and we found this.

In my hallway, where I was going to lay LPV, I had about a quarter of an inch to half an inch of unevenness that I was attempting to level. Like an idiot, I followed online suggestions, and like an even more idiot I likely applied the self leveler incorrectly. As you can see, I have almost a 1 inch hump now. How would you guys approach the situation?

I removed a laminate floor put down over concrete subfloor and on the steps there is wood that it looks like they used construction adhesive to attach to the concrete. What is the best way to get this construction adhesive off?

For what it’s worth I have only ever done small patches here or there. Just wrapped up first coat with taping - how’d I do? I was running solely off of coffee and the will to make Vancouver Carpenter somewhat proud

This was definitely a women’s bathroom, because I got so confused by the toilet I thought it was a urinal.

Plumber did this in a kitchen remodel. The foam board is an exterior wall, drywall is the interior wall. Won’t this be a problem when winter hits (Colorado). Also why didn’t he bring the drain and water up through the toe kick instead of cutting a huge section of drywall. There is a crawlspace underneath.

Me and my partner are moving out of a rental we have been in for 2 1/2 years. We just did a pre-move out inspection. The one guy said the flooring moving like this is our fault. They said this isn’t happening in any other units. They said we will have to pay for the repairs. We also have two office desk chairs, one in the basement and one on the top floor and overtime the floor has started lifting as seen in the photos, the floor is literally broken because the wheels kept getting caught on the lifting floor. They say this is all our fault. We had a maintenance person hired by them come in around a year ago to fix the flooring under one of the chairs. It took him around 5 minutes and he noted the quality of the floors they used was bad. Only a day later it started lifting under the chair again. I think I’m gonna fight this because they’re threatening to charge us over $1000 for all the floors, but I think it is a installation issue. Can anyone confirm or deny this? We live in a Mainstreet Corp. complex if that doesn’t say anything already.

Contractor finished the pencil tiles today… I would have expected the corners to be mitered. Or am I being picky?
