Spectra lock Pro on Large Format Tile - haze question around joints
reparing myself to do epoxy grout on our bathroom floor. We are using a dark slate look tile with a dark grout (Raven). 24x24 tile with 3/32" grout lines. 175 Sq Ft total. I've heard some rumblings about dark tile showing grout haze lines if you don't smear the grout over the whole tile. That seems like it would be lots of extra work to do that, vs just filling the grout lines.

Or perhaps I just hire someone to do this... Picture is of test fit, not final install.

Why does this keep happening?
The tile in our house is about 10yrs old at this point we moved in almost 9yrs ago and in the last year this has been happening on random spots throughout the home. Also a lot of other spot aren't cracked or broken but the move when stepped on as if they aren't secured properly. Is this just bad adhesion on the installers part? Is my slab doing something crazy to cause these problems? What do you guys think?

Dry fit … time to stick em em down then I’ll have a way out for the next bits .

WW2 Parquet Flooring
Been recovering our new house for a couple of months. I’m looking at doing the floor in my study this weekend and wanted some advice on it. It’s pretty gappy and uneven - seems like it’s all been glued down. Neighbour said this is from WW2 ammunition crates apparantly. How would you tackle this? Would you sand and use the shavings to fill or go for a new floor? Thanks guys!

Curb less shower we just completed
Nice workmanship! Can’t say the same for the selections. I don’t know why people make their bathrooms look like a tile showroom trying to display as many styles and colors as possible in a small space. 95% of people do not have the design skills to pull this off.

Shower floor not sloped to linear drain
Back in 2019 a friend of a friend who rehabs houses on the side redid our old rowhome's upstairs bathroom but did not slope the shower floor to the side linear drain correctly so we had to add the small granite curb to contain the water and we squeegee the floor after each shower. Yes, we've been doing that for almost 6 years now..

The reason we didn't have him fix his work is a long story, but part of the issue is we have radiant heating coils so fixing just the shower floor would likely damage the coils then we have a useless thermostat on the wall.

Hindsight is 20/20 - we probably wouldn't have gone with a linear drain in that position, and would've triple checked the contractor was actually capable of installing that kind of drain, etc etc.

If we want to keep the heated floor, is our only option to completely demo the floor and replace all the coils? Would you relocate the drain to the middle or have a smaller horizontal linear drain at the front wall of the shower?

I've never tiled before so we'll def hire a reputable contractor but I wanted to get an idea of some potential solutions here.

Thanks in advance!
