Talent attracts talent — and talent is mobile. That universal truth built America’s scientific and technological dominance. From the émigré scientists who powered the Manhattan Project to the immigrant founders who created Silicon Valley, the United States thrived because it welcomed the world’s best.

But what happens when a nation forgets that lesson? In the latest edition of , Ajay Raju explores how openness to global talent fuels excellence — and why America’s competitive edge is now at risk. Drawing lessons from the National Basketball Association (NBA)’s international success, Britain’s tax exodus, and China’s scientific surge, Raju argues that the next century will belong to the countries that compete for talent, not those that close their doors to it.

A former U.S. diplomat’s explosive claims have reignited debate over India’s H-1B visa program. In a recent podcast, Indian American diplomat Mahvash Siddiqui, who served at the U.S. Consulate in Chennai (2005–2007), alleged that 80 to 90% of H-1B visas issued to Indians during that time were fraudulent, involving fake degrees, forged documents, or unqualified applicants — and that efforts to expose the issue were “overturned due to political pressure.”
Her remarks — made in a personal capacity — come at a sensitive time, as Indian professionals face renewed scrutiny over the H-1B program under ongoing policy reviews.
To separate fact from perception, The American Bazaar spoke with Chennai-based immigration attorney Gnanamookan Senthurjothi, who says systemic reforms since 2007 have dramatically reduced fraud rates.
“The industrial-scale fraud of the 2000s led to the creation of the Hyderabad Consulate itself,” Senthurjothi explained, noting that current fraud levels are below 1%, according to Nasscom.
The story explores:
-- What the 2005–2007 “fraud years” looked like from inside the consulate
-- How U.S. and Indian authorities cracked down on fake documentation
-- Why the legacy of that period still shapes visa policy today

On November 12, a federal judge in Colorado has struck down the steep 2024 fee hikes for the EB-5 Immigrant Investor Program, ruling that USCIS violated the law by bypassing key procedural requirements.

The decision has already forced the agency to roll back EB-5 fees to pre-2024 levels — a win hailed by investors and immigration attorneys alike.

But its impact could go further. Legal experts say the ruling could influence ongoing lawsuits challenging President Trump’s controversial $100,000 H-1B visa fee proclamation, signaling that courts are willing to scrutinize executive overreach in immigration policy.

A Colorado court ruling invalidating steep EB-5 fee increases is being hailed as a victory for investors — and a potential precedent for challenges to President Trump’s controversial $100,000 H-1B visa fee.

A disturbing trend is accelerating across far-right corners of the internet: the rapid spread of the slur “Pajeet,” a derogatory term aimed at Indians, Hindus, and especially H-1B visa holders in the United States.

What began years ago on anonymous forums like 4Chan has now spilled into mainstream platforms — Reddit, X, Instagram, and beyond — amplified by political rhetoric, immigration backlash, and the recent uproar over new H-1B visa fees. https://americanbazaaronline.com/2025/11/16/pajeet-racist-slur-against-indians-spreading-on-internet-470091/

The term is now widely used among right-wing groups to disparage Indians, Hindus, and particularly H-1B workers in the U.S.

Indian tech workers and Indian Americans across the United States have seen a sharp rise in hostility and cultural backlash against them in recent months. Social media rhetoric has surged against “foreign workers” on H-1B, and states like Florida have moved to ban H-1Bs in public institutions.

The backlash is not just political — it’s also cultural, with Diwali celebrations, public festivals, and even greetings from high-profile officials now drawing unexpected criticism. At the same time, some Indian Americans are calling for introspection, noting that a few high-profile fraud cases and cultural misunderstandings have added fuel to the fire.

Indian Americans are now confronting a paradox: Their success has made them more visible than ever — but also more vulnerable.

Mass layoffs delivered via email, Zoom, and even system lockouts are no longer just an American phenomenon — they’re now emerging across corporate India.
In our latest report, we speak to employees like Bengaluru tech professional Ritika Sharma, who logged in one morning to find her access cut and an email declaring her role “redundant.” As U.S. giants — Amazon, Target, Freshworks, Intel, Accenture — cut thousands of roles globally, a troubling trend is emerging:
-- 72% of Indian professionals surveyed say they were laid off on the same day or with just one day’s notice.
-- At some U.S.-based companies in India, over 90% received no advance notice at all.
This is despite Indian labor laws that mandate one to three months’ notice for most workers. Read the full story: https://americanbazaaronline.com/2025/11/14/the-american-way-of-firing-sudden-layoffs-are-reshaping-indias-white-collar-work-culture-470033/

As U.S.-style layoffs spread to India, sudden terminations are destabilizing the country’s middle class despite existing labor protections.

In late September, President Donald Trump announced plans to impose a 100% tariff on all films produced outside the U.S. — a move that could have major consequences for Indian cinema, one of the biggest foreign film industries in the American market.

Bollywood producer-actor Rahul Mittra, who stars in the newly released Hindi film Haq, told The American Bazaar that if the tariff takes effect, it could “cause a steep decline in U.S. earnings for Indian films.”

The U.S. accounts for nearly 50% of Indian films’ overseas box office, with Hindi, Telugu, and Tamil movies earning between $100–150 million each year from theaters, streaming, and satellite rights.

From RRR and Pathaan to Baahubali 2 and Jawan, Indian movies have long connected diaspora audiences with the homeland. But now, the industry faces a new challenge — one where art meets trade politics.

Indian American entrepreneur and investor Kanwal Rekhi — one of Silicon Valley’s most respected voices — has issued a sharp warning about what he calls a full-on AI bubble. In a recent social media post, Rekhi pointed out that Nvidia’s market cap now equals that of all publicly listed companies in India combined — a comparison he says reveals a massive imbalance.
“Either Nvidia is overvalued or Indian stocks [are] an attractive buy. Both can’t be true,” Rekhi wrote.
He also cautioned that 40% of all current investments are flowing into AI-related ventures — without visible, proportional returns. Citing the dot-com crash and the 1987 market collapse, Rekhi asks: “Is an AI crash coming, soon?”
His remarks come amid growing concern among global regulators and economists. The Bank of England recently warned that markets could face a “sudden correction” as valuations of AI-focused companies soar beyond sustainable levels.

Veteran Silicon Valley investor and TiE co-founder cautions that soaring AI valuations and unrealistic expectations could trigger a sharp market correction — echoing the crashes of 1987 and the dot-com era.

For centuries, our financial systems have been built on trust, with governments, banks, and institutions saying, “Trust us.” But that trust has been repeatedly broken — through inflation, bailouts, and systemic mismanagement.
Now, a new architecture is emerging.
One based not on promises, but on mathematics, cryptography, and transparent code. In the latest edition of hashtag , venture capitalist and lawyer Ajay Raju explores why this seismic shift is inevitable — and how it will define economic winners and losers for decades to come.
From Bitcoin ETFs and stablecoins to decentralized finance and tokenization, the financial world is no longer just changing — it’s reprogramming itself.
“Capital is voting with its feet. The transition from promises to code is underway. Don’t be left behind.”
