He conceived "cubism" - which reduces subjects to geometric forms - in the early 1900s and stamped a wide swath of 20th century artistry.

A known Communist and resident of Paris during the German occupation, the N***s banned his "expressions of degeneracy" for not following their "guidelines of art".

'The Real 300'

The Battle of Thermopylae was an epic conflict between the armies of King Leonidas of Sparta and Xerxes of the Persian Empire in 480 BC - the inspiration for the 2006 thriller 300.

Fought between an estimated 25K Greeks and 300K Persians, the battle is the most well-known and well-documented conflict of the Persian Wars. Notably, for its strategic location - Thermopylae, a 200-yard-wide pass along southeastern Greece.

The Greeks successfully repelled the Persians the first 2 days of battle. But a traitor guided the Persians along a secret mountain path, enabling them to get behind the rear flank of the Spartans.

300 caught a lot of flak for its portrayal, but the core narrative of 300 is true to history. Including one of the sickest last stands of all time....after the last 300 were encircled.
