MAGA IS SO TWISTED.
U.S. President Donald Trump confronted South African President Cyril Ramaphosa on Wednesday with explosive false claims of white genocide and land seizures during a tense White House meeting.

South Africa has one of the highest murder rates in the world, but the overwhelming majority of victims are Black.

🚨IGL APPEAL 🚨

1. The sudden halt of the 4-day war between India and Pakistan is no coincidence. Reports suggest the threat of nuclear escalation was real—this could have been our generation’s Cuban Missile Crisis. History will reveal more, but one thing is clear: a catastrophe was narrowly avoided.

2. Yet instead of reflecting, we see both sides claiming victory. Partisan media and social media warriors—even many otherwise sensible people—have been swept into a storm of chest-thumping and blame games.

3. Let’s be honest: no one won. People died. Civilians lived in terror. And both countries, already staggering under poverty and inequality, came close to disaster.

4. India and Pakistan are among the poorest and most unequal societies in the world. Their militaries are oversized, their states hollowed out, like perfect garrison states. Most of their weapons are imported at huge foreign exchange costs. Their agriculture is in crisis, their industrial base weak, their public services crumbling.

5. And now, global media—including many so-called progressive outlets—will try to frame this as just another Cold War theatre, with India and Pakistan as pawns in the West vs. China game. But we know better: this is not about them. It’s about us.

This is not a moment for nationalism. This is a moment for solidarity, sobriety, and sanity.

We urge the people of both India and Pakistan:
Don’t fall for the media hasbara.
Don’t let war narratives distract from the real struggles we face.
It’s time to focus on dignity, equality, and peace—not glory through destruction

Solidarity,
India & Global Left.

🚨India-Pakistan Ceasefire

As India and Pakistan rush to declare a ceasefire, many will celebrate.

Governments will claim victory.
Generals will be praised.
Flags will wave.

But somewhere, a mother has lost her son. A child is now an orphan. And tens of civilians — nameless, faceless — will quietly disappear from memory.

The State may honor a few in uniform. But the poor, the displaced, the mourning — they will not be mentioned.

So what do we do?

We remember. We reject war, revenge, and repression — not just today, but always. We commit to a South Asia of peace, dignity, and justice. Not one ruled by bombs and borders, but by solidarity and shared humanity. Because a ceasefire may stop the bullets. But only the people — you and I — can stop the hate.

Dear all,

We’ve just received a small grant from one of our generous patrons, earmarked specifically for podcast-related work. With it, we’re considering two options:

Producing more in-person podcast episodes, or

Creating a short documentary focused on working-class lives in South Asia — which is our top priority.

We want to begin in South Asia for three reasons:

It’s where we have the strongest connections and contextual understanding,

It remains one of the most under-documented and underdeveloped regions,

And with limited resources, working locally is more feasible than launching similar efforts in wealthier countries.

That said:

1. If you’re based in India, Bangladesh, Nepal, Bhutan, Sri Lanka, Pakistan, or Afghanistan, and are interested in joining a 3-month paid assignment to help video-document working-class lives in your area, please email us a proposal + CV at [email protected]. If your idea resonates, we’ll get in touch. Full creative credit will be given.

2. If others would like to support this project financially, your help could allow us to fund two or three such assignments, making the documentary richer and more expansive. Every small or large contribution counts.

Warmly,
Ayushman & Jyotishman
