Hi all! I just wanted to introduce myself and share a photo that I took, these are the sandstone steps that go to my cellar , I’ve scrubbed them as they were filthy, I love how they’ve worn down over the years since 1783 ….how many footsteps have been up & down them ♥️

All I did was take his phone to the bathroom because mine was dead, and I needed to look up how to fix the leaking toilet. I came back to find he'd destroyed two years of my DIY work in five minutes flat. Everything on the floating shelves is now broken. My refinished coffee table, which took three weeks of sanding and staining, was flipped and scratched. He even ripped the macrame plant holder I'd just finished, where I sell my handmade pieces. The pattern pieces for my next project were scattered everywhere like confetti. Over a phone. He knew every single piece in this room was made with my own hands; he knew how many hours I'd spent learning from YouTube tutorials and trying again when I messed up. Now I'm sitting in what looks like a DIY demolition site, wondering how someone who claimed to love me could destroy everything I created just because I took his phone for five minutes. I've already changed the locks, but, honestly, the damage to my trust hurts worse than the damage to my apartment.

Client is holding final payment over deck footings because she claims the posts “aren’t centered enough” and says it looks unsafe. Meanwhile, the bracket is fully secured, the load is sitting solid, and the beam is still making full contact where it actually matters. I explained to her that not every footing has to look perfectly Instagram-level centered to be structurally fine. People online act like if something is off by an inch, the whole deck is about to collapse tomorrow. 😂 I told her I’d post the photo and let the actual builders, contractors, and carpenters weigh in, since apparently Facebook inspectors know more than people who do this every day. According to her, this is “completely unacceptable.” According to me, this thing is going absolutely nowhere. 💪🏻

My son came home from college with big renovation dreams for our 1920s house. 'Mom, trust me,' he said, crowbar in hand. I watched nervously as he started pulling off the old paneling we'd stared at for 20 years. Then we saw it: original tin ceiling tiles, intricate woodwork, and floors with inlay patterns that must have taken craftsmen weeks to install. All were hidden behind decades of 'updates' that previous owners thought were improvements. He's been documenting everything on the Tedooo app, where DIY enthusiasts have become our unofficial consultants. When we couldn't figure out how to restore the tin without damaging it, someone who specializes in historical homes walked us through the process. Another person helped identify the wood species in the inlay so we could match stain colors perfectly. The floor took three weeks of careful sanding and treatment. My son worked every evening after his part-time job, determined to bring it back to life. 'These craftsmen from 100 years ago deserve to have their work seen again,' he kept saying. Now when people visit, they can't believe it's the same house. But the best part is watching my 22-year-old son appreciate craftsmanship from another era, understanding that some things are worth preserving. Not everything old needs to be covered up - sometimes it just needs someone patient enough to uncover its beauty.

My husband brought this because someone was about to throw it away, and I instantly thought about painting it red. He says it can't be done, so we ended up debating about it 😂. He prefers to keep it the way it is, but I really want to give it a fresh new look. Now we're both curious: what do you think? Paint it red or leave it as is? Thank you all so much! 😁

We're trying to build a closet using a bookshelf in the middle for a new nursery, but these bypass doors are making it difficult. I need full access to the closet, but the issue is with the measurements: the opening is 67 inches and the height is 80 inches. Two contractors have told me bifold doors won't work. I've seen accordion doors, but I'm not sure about the size. What other door options are there? Reframing and drywalling to fit doors is not an option.

My dad has something exactly like this tattooed on his left arm, but he won't tell me what it is or what it's supposed to represent. For reference, this isn't exactly what it looked like, but it very closely resembles the original. I absolutely cannot get a picture of it, but this is it. The scribble at the top is some kind of faded text.
