Here’s one that’s perfect for the “Girl Dinner” meme of the moment.

The Hay-Adams’ storied The Lafayette restaurant has unveiled a refined riff on the trend, calling it: “Petite Plates + the Perfect Pour: Girl Dinner, Elevated.”

Offered Mondays through Wednesdays from 4:30 to 6:30pm, the concept leans into the luxury of less (and by that we mean less rush, less noise, and less obligation) while delivering just enough indulgence to make it feel like a full occasion.

There’s something irresistible about a hidden door, a dimly lit room, and a story you’re not supposed to read. (Don’t worry, this one feels less like a bar and more like a secret society for readers.)

Last spring, we whispered a password to a “librarian” and slipped through a concealed entrance into one of the most memorable pop-ups in the DC area: the Banned Books Speakeasy at at Morrison House. Inside, the vibe was all curiosity: shelves lined with controversial classics, cocktails inspired by rebellious narratives, and the thrill of participating in something both indulgent and… meaningful.

This year, it’s back, and bigger!

On five wooded acres above Georgetown, Tudor Place has long been a careful keeper of complicated American stories. (It’s first inhabitant, Martha Parke Custis Peter (“Patty”) was the granddaughter of Martha Washington and the step-granddaughter of George Washington.)

This season, as the nation approaches its 250th anniversary, the historic house museum turns a fresh eye to a foundational moment: the 1802 estate sale of Martha Washington.

File this under fitness, but make it fun: Puppies and Pilates is officially popping up across the greater Washington area, and it’s bringing equal parts burn and bark.

In DC, Arlington, West Springfield, and Annapolis, this isn’t just a gimmicky stretch session with a side of selfies. Founder Bethany Kazaba, the force behind Neighborhood Retail Group, has built a concept that’s structured and serotonin-boosting: a legit Pilates workout, plus puppies!!

Crystal City just got a little more polished and a lot more plush. The Westin Crystal City is back in business after a top-to-bottom renovation, and let’s just say: she understood the assignment. ‘Skillette’ Makes Cooking Cool in Georgetown

Georgetown is getting a little more butter, a little more bravado, and a lot more bronze cookware this fall. After years of bouncing between borrowed kitchens and buzzy collaborations, founder Kelly Singer is planting roots in a 1,500-ish-square-foot space that’s a classroom......
