FSN is assisting in the hiring process for an English-language multimedia news outlet in the South Caucasus region looking for experienced newsroom journalists.
The desk journalist posts are full-time, based at the organisation's broadcast and digital HQ in the region. This role is crucial for maintaining the quality and accuracy of news content, working alongside reporters and editors to deliver compelling stories to the channel's audience as it positions itself as a leading voice in global journalism.
Roles and responsibilities include:
- The ability to write television and digital scripts and articles in English
- Experience working in a busy multimedia newsroom
- The ability to review and edit articles, news stories, and other content for accuracy, clarity, and adherence to editorial standards
- Coordination of daily news assignments and helping to manage content arriving in the newsroom from the field, working with producers, correspondents, news crews and editors
- Adapt, manage, and update content for digital platforms, including the website and social media channels
Required Qualifications & Skills:
- Bachelor’s degree or higher in Journalism, Communications, or a related field
- Minimum of 3 years of experience in journalism or news editing, with proven newsroom experience preferred
- Demonstrated ability to produce high-quality written content under tight deadlines
- Strong understanding of journalistic principles, ethical standards, and media law
- Proficiency in Content Management Systems (CMS), digital publishing tools, and knowledge of AP Style or equivalent editorial guidelines
- Fluency in English and the ability to write scripts and stories in that language
