My fiancé, Jared, told me his bachelor getaway would be low-key—just him and two friends going on a hiking trip. But a few days before he left, I bumped into one of his groomsmen, Dylan, at the mall. Out of nowhere, he said:
"Props to you for being cool about Jared’s closure trip. A whole vacation with his ex right before the wedding? That’s bold. My girlfriend would never go for that, but hey—respect!"
I was stunned but played it off like I was totally in the loop. I needed more info.
"Yeah, that evening flight's kind of a pain though," I said casually.
Dylan gave me a confused look.
"Evening? The flight’s at 8:40 a.m. on Tuesday."
I just nodded and went along.
"Right, guess I should remind him to pack his umbrella. Rainy season in Bali, huh?"
Dylan blinked, looking puzzled.
"Bali? I thought they were going to Cancún…"
I went home. I didn’t cry or yell. I just came up with a plan—and made one phone call.
The next morning, I arrived at the airport dressed in white… and I wasn’t alone. I spotted Jared and his ex, Miranda, at security, laughing like they were in some cheesy romantic movie.
I walked straight up to them, smiling, and called out:
"Jared!"
He turned around—completely unprepared to see who I was standing with. ⬇️
